• Smashed glass strewn across the mahogany floors, scratching its surface as it came into contact, leaving marks; the memories of this day. Slamming of doors could be heard through out the house and street leaving neighbours sighing. Nothing could be done to stop the shouting, the screams that echoed against the walls. The cries and the heartbreak, witnessed by those four walls the two stood with in. Nothing could be said for the scene, a sea of shards of coloured and clear glass, a huddled figure on the floor shaking with tears and pain, the standing person looking upon them with fire in their eyes. The huddled figure on the floor took stand, looking back at the person in front with the same fear, pain and fire in its eyes, With out any emotion that could be read on its face the figure moved to the door with smashed panels walking across the shards on the floor. They turned the handle and let the door swing open standing in the door way for a moment, back still turned to the other person “I thought it would never get like this, I thought we’d be the ones to get through anything.” The person didn’t say anything, didn’t even move when it saw the drop fall to the floor underneath the figure. After that no words where said and sounds could be heard accept the sigh that fell from the others lips as it left the door way and all that was heard through the house was the soft click of the front door shut.

The person walked down the short street, wrapping her arms around her body the wind picking up her tears sending them off to a far off place. The cold night air hitting her in every way made her tighten her grip and bow her head the street lamps shining down on her, making a dark shadow follow her. Looking up, the wind brushing back her hair, she saw the sky was quite clear. She saw the stars were shining like nothing else in the world “Show me the way home, away from the pain, show me the way home” she whispered to no one but her self to no one but the wind the flowed around her. The night she didn’t think that night she followed the stars home.
