It's obviously legit. It looks like some sort of marker to me. I don't see how you can prove it's not sharpie, though sharpie's bleed a bit on paper so it wouldn't be the best to use for this anyway.
Anyways, I think this is awesome. I've always wanted to do a pic like this, but I do not have any patience in any way, shape, or form so I'd get frustrated after about 10 minutes lol
