Keep practicing.
First off, you should determine where your light source(s) is/are coming from. Then you will be able to see where to put shading and whatnot.
As for the drawing-
You don't suck. You just need to work on proportions of the human body.
I'm not sure if you did this, but next time you draw first start with a body base before going into any details and get it like you want and then everything will flow smoothly.

- You don't suck! I think if you keep practicing you'll be really great, about shading always remember where your light source is coming from (I've made the mistake of forgetting before!)
