i know this is an overused theme but oh well. it was originally a picture to work on proportioning but then i got a little A.D.D. and didnt really want to draw legs so i turned into a mermaid instead and mostly worked on the proportions and shading.
Tools:pentech woodless pencil, #2 pencil (that i am now very attatched to), eraser, my grandmas sketchbook, and about 3 days.
EDIT: i know there are no hands because i conveniently ran out of paper .

smile This is nice. The shading is quite nice especially in the upper body~it gives it a nice 3d quality. Your proportions are pretty good, too smile though the arms seem a bit stick-like.
And I'm not sure what the finished product looks like, but I think having some shading/other details in the background would finish this off nicely smile - Report As Spam

OMG! This picture is amazing! I saw your comment in my gallery and just wanted to say I`m happy that u like my pics...
But this one is awesome... I really like the shading, it smudged here, and there, but that isn`t a real problem...

- Coolio. Though there are a few tiny places where the shading is alittle off. But other than that it's great! I love the design for the tail/fin. You did a good job.
