With his new weapon in hand, Astinos and Lt. Griffin confront the beast. Griffin is armed with a heavy rifle. They carefully approach the rampaging monster when Griffin takes aim and fires at its back. The man-wolf lets out a cry of anguish and turns to the Lieutenant, Astinos quickly throws a lit candle at the beast setting its shaggy exterior ablaze. The two clear the way of it as it charges toward them both, it catches on to a curtain which caused the flames to grow stronger. Griffin noticed that the beast was near some lantern fluid, not a good omen.
"Lad, that flaming b*****d is going to kill us all if we dont get him away from that lantern!" Griffin shouted. Astinos noticed the same.
"Then leave, i've got an idea!!!" He yelled. Griffin left without even saying "good luck" , Astinos used his crossbow to fire an arrow into the monster's foot then while trapped in place, the werewolf started knocking things down; one of those being the lantern barrel. Astinos quickly ran away from the hall and into the foyer of the mansion, there he picked up a rifle from a fallen soldier, aimed, and fired at the lantern barrel. Almost immediately, Astinos dropped the rifle and darted out the door, behind him was a massive explosion that shook the entire estate and leveled a third of it. pieces of the house flew into the snow, as Astinos face down into it rose up to see the carnage. Griffin approached Astinos.
"Well i'll be damned....that was your plan, eh? Stellar!" He complimented. Astinos smiled which was quickly turned into a face of concern as he noticed Lucy with the medics.
"Is she.....?" Astinos paused to the Lt.
"Dead?" answered Griffin. "Sorry, old chap..." He added with remorse.
"I guess it was for the better anyway." Mason interrupted. Astinos turned to Mason and punched him in his mouth sending him straight into the snow. The Lt. grabbed Astinos.
"Calm down, lad." He said.
"No let him loose! So i can teach him some respect!" Mason said as he slugged Astinos across his face, he looked at Mason with great contempt and swung at him again. The two exchanged blows for a moment when Astinos finished him with a hard hit to his stomach and a knee to his face. Mason, back in the snow again cursed at Astinos as he walked to his horse and rode off.
