    Prologue;

The rock that I had on my finger glowed in the darkness like something that wasn’t from this world. It weighed so heavily on my finger that I couldn’t move my hand. My mind couldn’t revolve around the feeling that I was doing something completely wrong.
I looked up into the darkened mirror that only had the light from the candle that was behind me. My face looked pale as normal, my eyes painted so that would look semi alive.
The mirror changed slightly as I stared into it. I could see my self walking down the aisle to meet my future husband, but as I looked up I could see that it wasn’t the man that I was supposed to marry, it was the love of my life. I smiled as I ran to him. But as I ran I felt that I was getting farther and farther behind. “Please!” I called with a dry voice. “Please wait for me.”
He turned his back to me and stuck his hands in his pockets the way that he had done so many times before.
I fell to my knees in the winding darkness. The white flowers that I once held were now turning to ash as they laid on the ground beside me.
I shook my head as I looked back down at my ring finger. A crystal tear the color of blood fell onto the back of my hand and slid down my skin. My pale hand made the color of the tear so vivid that it even impressed me. I looked back into the mirror and saw my tear streaked cheeks.
“Ms. Rayne, are you ready now?” The maid asked as she brought in the white veil.
    I nodded.
She smiled and walked over to me and placed it upon my head. “You look so beautiful, I am so glad that the prince found you.” She whispered as she placed the rough mesh over my face.
“Thank you.” I said standing up, and straitening out the white dress.
The maid looked down at me and fluffed my raven black hair. She handed me my bouquet of white roses with one red one in the middle. She didn’t say anything else as she lead me out of the room and down the long black hall.
When we arrived in front of the big white doors, I felt such sadness. My life was going up in flames right before my eyes, if only I could call out to him and he would come and save me like he had done so many times before.
Smile at me with the warm smile that he only held for me, look at me with such intensity that he gave me when I did something so stupid that he called it cute. Laugh with me, hold my hand with the warm ness that he held not minding that my skin was completely cold. Kiss me on the fore head before he left my side. Stand in front of me when the danger was coming straight for me.
I let out a soft giggle as another warm tear ran down my face.
The light filled my darkened heart as I watched them open the giant doors. I was the only bride that walked into the arms of the man that she was betrothed to for the rest of her life with tear filled eyes, I was the only one in this world that would walk down the aisle to a man that she didn’t love. I was the only one in the chapel that bled from her eyes. I was the only monster that could love.

    I

The grass was cool where I laid underneath the willow tree. The skies were so blue with the birds flying above. I stared at the clouds drifting by one by one. I took in a deep breath and smiled as a butterfly landed on my nose.
I was startled when the butterfly started to fly away. I watched as it lifted itself into the air on the soft wings that the creator had given it. “It’s so beautiful isn’t it?” I asked as I sat up.
The Blue haired women to my left looked at me and smiled. “Yes.”
“Isabelle you always notice the tiniest things!” Another girl said from my left.
I looked over and smiled as she placed a flowed in my hair. “I try to notice the small things in the world. I know that I am not the smallest one in this kingdom, but no one else seems to notice.” I said as I played with one of my longer strands of hair. “Father never lets me out of this palace. I feel so trapped.” I said clenching the black satin of my dress.
“Don’t fret.” The blue haired woman said as she placed her hand on my head and gave me a warm smile. “I believe that he has a special treat coming up for you later on in life.”
I shook my head. “I don’t think so Chrome.” I whispered. “I was born differently then my other sisters. I don’t have the looks nor the brain. I was born with a curse. Something that my father couldn’t deal with.”
The Brunette pouted. “You know, I don’t think that what you born with was a curse I think it will lead to something bigger, something more complex.” She said with a giggle.
Chrome looked over at her, her face hardening. “Blade, you’re one complex person you know that. You can be so carefree one moment then the next you are completely serous.”
A smiled grew on Blades face as she stood up. “I know.” She said as she held out a hand towards me. “Now come on Miss Rayne, we have to get you your after noon snack.”
I took her hand and she started to lead me to the castle kitchen.

My name is Isabelle Rayne, I am the youngest daughter of the Vampiric Kingdom. When I was born my mother passed away, giving me the fist mark of the cursed child. Then, when I was four I started having weird dreams that would come true the next day. At first I called it de’ja’vu, you know you dream about it and you feel like you have seen it before? But then I started to get them while I was awake, not only that I was also reading the peoples minds as I walked by and looked at them.
I couldn’t stand it, so I told my father so maybe he could get rid of it. I was six when he secluded me away in the tallest tower of the castle telling all that guards that I was not to leave the castle grounds. Telling the nurses that I was to have my right eye bandaged at all times and that they were not to look at me in the face.
    I was a total outcast.
My 12th birthday I received a cake from my father like I always did, but he never came to see me. With the cake was a letter stating that I was to have two new guards. They were female so they could go everywhere with me. My heart sunk as I looked out the tower window. My life was to be lived up here and I was to never find the kind of love that they had in the fairy tales that I used to read when I was a child.
But, no matter how much time I had spent by myself I was always friendly when people came to dress me. In hopes that maybe they would come back and talk to me just because. But no one ever did maybe they were scared of my powers.
When I turned 13 I met Chrome. She was the first one who didn’t even attempt to smile with fake intentions at me when she watched over me. In fact she didn’t say a word. She just stood over me and watched.
I grew afraid of her. I grew used to her presence but I was terribly terrified of her.
One day I decided to try and get rid of her. “You know I am cursed right?” I hissed.
She looked at me then looked away.
“I can look into your mind with the slightest of ease. I could tell you when you are going to die.” I said as I pushed around the broccoli on my plate.
“Just eat you vegetables.” She replied. The first sentence that I had heard from her since I had met her.
    “Y-You just spoke.” I stuttered.
“Yes,” She said looking at me with her dark red eyes. “People tend to do that from time to time.” She said with a slight smile.
I stared at her and ate my vegetables. I didn’t want her to hurt me or anything.
After that incident Chrome would actually talk to me and sit down with me while I was eating. It had seemed that I had made my first real friend that would stay with me though thick and thin.
It would seem that I couldn’t read Chrome’s mind, she had such a strong barrio around her thoughts that I didn’t have to wear my bandage around her.
When I turned the age of 15 I met Blade. She was so open minded and fun that even Chrome started to like her. I actually had friends that I could look forward to everyday. I could be myself and I didn’t always have to be so proper and kind. I could scream when I was angry, I could cry when I was sad, I could ask questions and actually get straight answers. I was living the life that I always wanted.

We entered the kitchen with silence as the cook prepared us our meal.
Blade walked in front of me and smiled. “I have to do this.” She said holding up the bandage. “The cook will get freaked out that you are not wearing it.” She said as she lifted my long bangs and placed it on my eye.
I nodded. “It’s nothing new to me, I have been wearing it all my life.” I said as I looked up at Chrome. She had her ‘scary’ face on as she walked up to the cook.
“The princess is here to get her meal. Make sure that it has all the nutrients that she needs.” She demanded as the cook looked at me. “Please don’t loko at her in such a fashion, she is a human being just like the rest of us.” She said as she walked back to my side.
“Aw! Chrome, why do I have to have vegetables?” I asked as I sat down at the table. “There so nasty.”
Chrome smiled and sat down in the chair next to me. “Because we want your bones to grow so that you can be strong and healthy.”
Blade made a face and stood up. “I am going to report to the king.” She said as she handed me a package. “Happy Birthday!” She said with a smile. “Your sixteen, how does it feel.”
I looked at the table and blushed. “You remembered?” I whispered.
Chrome nodded. “This present is form the both of us.”
I looked up and smiled. “You guys really didn’t have to get me anything.” I said as I unwrapped the little package. There was a tiny box inside, I took off the top of the box to reveal what was inside.
It was a gold heart necklace. I looked up at Chrome. “It’s beautiful.” I said beginning to cry.
“It’s said to have a power that draws you to the one that you are destined to be with. You true love or some thing like that.” She said taking the little box out of my hand. She removed the necklace from the box and placed it in her hand. “If you ever get separated from us, then I am sure that we can find you if you are wearing this.” She said as she stood up and moved my hair so that she could place the necklace around my neck.
“What are you talking about?” I said beginning to realize what she said. “I am never going to get separated from you guys.”
She nodded and place my hair back to where it was. “That I know of.”
Blade walked back into the room with a solemn look on her face. “Isabelle, your father wants to see you. “ She whispered.
I looked up with a weird look. “A-are you sure?” I asked as I stood from my seat.
She nodded. “By yourself.” She added.
“I-I see.” I whispered as I looked down at my necklace. “I will be right back.” I said as I exited the kitchen.
It had been so long since I had walked through the castle that I wasn’t quite sure of where I was going. But I finally reached the office that he used when I was a small child.
I knocked on the big wooden door. “Hello?’ I said sort of loud.
“Isabelle, is that you?” My fathers voice said from the other side of the door. “Come in.” He said quickly.
I turned the knob slowly and opened the door. There was a slight creek from the door. “Hello.” I said as I walked in with my face towards the ground.
“It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?” He asked as he walked around his desk and in front of me. “Wow your already sixteen now aren’t you?”
    I nodded. “It’s my birthday.” I whispered.
“Well, all be.” He said with a smile. “Happy birthday.”
I looked up. It seemed that I wasn’t even talking to my father, more of a distant relative. “Thank you.” I whispered.
He smiled and walked back behind his desk and sat down. “So I have called you to my office for some thing that I need.” He said as he shuffled through some papers. “The book of Obsidian Solstice.” He said handing me a picture of the book.
“No offence.” I said taking the picture from his hand. “But, why don’t you have one of your soldiers do it?” I said looking at the ancient looking book.
“Because I am afraid that none of us are going to last that long. No one knows about you so I know that you will be safe out there.” I took a deep breath and placed his hands on the table. “You see Damious is in the middle of a war. You wouldn’t know about this because I have kept you away from the pain and suffering. But the demons have taken over the human Villages and are coming to attack our kingdom next.” He explained.
I looked up at him with my hair covering my bandaged eye. “There coming to kill us?” I whispered.
“No, they are going to kill us, you are going to get out of here and summon the warrior of light so he can defeat this worlds darkness. That just happened to be the demon king.” He said standing up again. “I will give you enough money to live for the rest of your life in good wealth, but you have to promise that you will do this not for me but for everyone else.”
    I nodded.
He smiled. “Of coarse I will not be sending you by yourself. I will be sending you with four of my most trusted men.” He said walking over to the shelf. “Lets see, General Damion, Soran,-“
“chrome and Blade.” I interrupted. “I want them to come with me too.”
My father looked at me with awe. “You have gotten quite attached to those two have you not?” He asked as he sat up on the desk.
I looked at him and smiled. “I will do this mission for you but I don’t want you to treat me like your daughter after all this time that you treated me as an outcast.” I said as I started to exit the room.
