• I Just Love You ~
    I awoke in the middle of the night. Another nightmare. I looked on the other side of my bed. i sighed at the empty place next to me. i missed him. i missed Jacob. He was gone on a business trip to South Carolina. We were two years into our marriage. He was supposed to come home yesterday, but he called and said he would be held up for one more night.
    My nightmare made me worry. I saw him in his car. One minute he was happily driving home with the sun dancing on his face, not a cloud in the sky. And then the next moment it was raining. Suddenly he lost control of the car and swerved off the road. Just as he was about to smash into a huge tree i woke up. I would have at least one of these Nightmares when he was away. That is if i didn't go with him on the trip itself. His voice came into my head as i remembered his words when i told him about my nightmares. He would bring me into a warm embrace and say
    "Don't worry Liz. Ill be fine. and if something does happen.,..then just know that i love you okay?". then he would kiss my head, look me straight in the eye and smile. I would smile back and forget everything, just glad he was with me.
    He always knew how to cheer me up. He was supposed to come home tomorrow. Which was our 3rd anniversary day.He had called me and told me he was coming home tonight. I looked at the clock frantically biting my nails. the alarm clock read 1:48 AM. I sighed again. I needed to hear his soft voice again, something to assure me he was okay. Picking up the phone,that had sat on the wooden desk,i dialed his cellphone number.i sat up in bed as the phone started ringing.. After about two rings he picked up.
    "Darling its late, is everything okay?" his sweet concerned voice came through the phone.
    "yeah...i..i just had to hear your voice." i said exasperated. i was so relieved. i wouldn't know what to do if i lost him.
    "another nightmare?" he said softly.
    "Yeah...i just love you." i said leaning against the bed frame and closing my eyes.
    "when are you coming home?"
    "im coming home soon and i just love you too" he said in a soothing tone.
    "honey its one in the morning. You should go back to sleep and gets some needed rest. ill be home in a little while okay?"
    "alright then....wake me when you get home?"
    He was quiet for a moment.
    "alright. see you when i get home."
    "good night." i said
    "night" he replied
    then i put the phone back onto the receiver and sighed. Leaning back down into the bed and closed my eyes against the soft pillow. i closed my tired eyes and fell asleep.
    Soon i was awoken by movement on the bed. i was never a light sleeper anyway. i opened my eyes to Jacobs tired face, which was now smiling at me.
    "hey honey" he said sliding under the covers. he was already undressed and in his boxers.
    i smiled relieved that he was home.
    I sat up and moved over to him. He gave me the sweetest warm kiss. i laughed a little and leaned my head against his chest. He wrapped his strong arms around me. i listened to his heartbeat and soon fell asleep in his arms, glad he was home. Safe, in one piece, and right here beside me.
