• The shackles are cold. Freezing. The bronze cuffs have made my hands numb. Numb. Everything is numb. You fight, while you have will. Thats before you realize its pointless. Thats what they want. They want you to be a shell. A body with no soul. But things are diffrent now. Everything is so cold. Yet you feel rage and pain soak thought you, just like the large bloody scars we harbor. The blood is every where. You want to die. But you can never die. Not now. No one remembers. No one. We are watched with a constant eye by them. They will torture us until we beg for death. Its twelve now. I know because one of them brought me a cup of water. The water tastes like steel. There's a powder in the bottom. Thats the what gives the icy water its metalic flavor. I look away, signaling to them that im finished drinking. I look down at my blood soaked dress. It is white, well it is in some places, with plenty of moving space. My bear feet have been numb for so long. " Lets try." I think. Slowly my bloody leg moves. Gently. I feel the pain in my foot but i continue. The boy chained next to me is watching this movement. He tried it too. "He-" I stammered. It had been so long since we talked. "Hello," I tried again. My voice was cracked and dry. He just looked up at me. My long black hair was whistling in the breeze.Cold drafts come in all the time but this blast was stronger that the others for it revealed a scar that was in the shape of the numbers 94566325. The scar was on the right side of my chest, a little below my right collar bone. My skin was pale. As if i had died, plus im both bony thin. One of them comes in. He unlocks the chains. " Its time to break free." He says. But the boy next to me falls over. So does every one else. I loose focus. Im falling forward. I hit the hard cold metal. My pain is gone. i see pure black. Not like when you close your eyes. But blacker than any thing I've seen before. There is a mirror in front of me. When my reflection appears Blood starts to flood the room. The blood turns black. "No." I said. The flooding slowed down. " No, " I repeat." Not this time." I feel light come pouring out of me. Bursting. My eyes, they are light. For the first time in six years, Im smiling. The glass windows shatter. I am free.
