Juno stepped out of the shade of the passage way into the tunnel like forest trail of GoldWood. He held his Jet Force pistol at the ready should any Drones jump out at him. Juno surveyed the area before him, years on the Jet Force had taught him to be aware of his surroundings, he spied a figure lying in the dust, His visor's scannings showed minimal life readings. Whatever it was, it was dying. Juno rushed to the figure, keeping low so as to avoid any possible fire. He skirted over to the figure, it was a Tribal. The small, white bear-like creature coughed and clutched a crimson spot on his shirt. He had been shot in the chest; he wasn’t going to make it. The Tribal coughed one last time and then went limp, Juno closed the dead creatures eyes and shook his head sadly.
The wound is fresh, Drones are still nearby. Reasoned Juno, a low growl from a nearby tree confirming his suspicions. Diving into a roll to the side, Juno avoided a searing blast from within the canopy. The Jet Force agent opened fire with his pistol into the treetop and was soon rewarded with a screech and soon a large, green, humanoid ant crashed through the branches and lay twitching on the ground, flies immediatly descending upon the crippled creature. Juno immediately dived behind a tree stump to prepare himself for the coming firefight. A high pitched hum rang through the air as a train of airborne fighters poured from around the corner. Juno rose from his cover and fired at his enemies, bringing them down with expert aim and precision. Twirling his pistol like the gunslingers of old, Juno blew the smoke away from the barrel and holstered his weapon. His eyes darting around furtively, searching for another enemy.
“That wasn’t so difficult.” muttered Juno grimly to himself. But just as the words had left his mouth, a bullet whizzed past his head. Ducking back down to avoid more fire, Juno peered around the stump to see several groups of Drones approaching.
“Looks like this’ll be a little more trouble than I thought.” Juno said through gritted teeth. Drawing his machine gun and spinning the barrels experimentally, Juno slide a clip into the side and readied his weapon. He jumped from behind his cover and sprayed bullets into the ranks of the enemy. Green blood splattered the ground as the first wave of Drones fell to Juno’s weapon. A giant blast buzzed angrily near Juno’s arm, he looked up from his mow down to see several large, purple soldiers firing their colossal guns at him. Arming a grenade, Juno strafed to the side and hurled the explosive at the advancing enemies. The weapon’s blue waves coursed through the squads of Drones and their officers, tearing them apart and sending their limbs and innards flying. Juno breathed heavily behind a fragment of a Tribal’s house; he heard the familiar chime of a life-force door yielding to the chaos that had unfolded. Stepping out from behind the obstacle, Juno surveyed his work, Drone bodies littered the ground and the tall metal door before him slid open at his approach.

- Description: A very short story that I thought could sum up a brief fire fight in one of my favorite games; Jet Force Gemini. Medium-long story short, it's just a brief skrimish on Goldwood.
