SHORT STORY COMMENT IF YOU WANT MORE.
Joseph Drake took his sister Manda's hand. He started singing, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." She shook her head. "No. Nothing sad. I don't want that. Sing Halo." He laughed through his tears. She had cancer, and it was her time to go. She was so weak she couldn't open her eyes. "I'll try. Baby, these walls I built, baby they're tumblin' down..." sweatdrop
"It's remember these walls I built."
"..they didn't even put up a fight, didn't even make a sound..."
"Remember those lyrics. Remember them, and keep them in your little head, Joseph." she laughed. Joseph smiled. "Remember? When we were five, and I turned on the cold water in the bathtub on you, and.. and you went bezerk and chased me around the house with a broom?"
She laughed heartily. "Yeah. Sorry bout that."
"A-and when I did that matchmakin' quiz, so I could hook you up with your boyfreind?
"Thanks."
"Hey, sis. I bet you'll have a ridiculously great time in heaven. She rubbed his hand, and with one last smile, she passed away. cry
Lou, their father, was watching the whole thing. "She WILL go to heaven."
"Oh, is that right?" Joseph said between desperate gasps of air between maniatic cries.
"Why do you think Halo was her favorite song?" he smiled, glad that he had raised such good children. lol
Joseph kissed his sister, then gave his dad a great man hug. Manda did go to heaven.
