• -Whew, another though day at the college.

I came home from a long day at the college to a faint sound of music. This was not unusual for me, since this meant that my roommate was playing something on his many video game consoles, and that his girlfriend was on the computer chatting online on forums and instant messaging. I sat down in front of the television and turned on my Wii console, since I wanted to know what was up for download on the Wii Shop service. I didn’t have any money to download anything; it was just by curiosity that I check. As I see that, yet again, there was nothing of interest to download off the service, I look around at the pile of games that lay on the floor wondering what to immerse myself in. While I open the case of the game I had picked, Andre-Philippe, whom so happens to be my roommate, emerges from the depths of his room with a mouse like shriek. It was his way of saying hello that I found amusing.

    -Hey Dede, what’s going on?

-Meh, not much, what are you up to?

-Just got back, sat down, ready to play some Animal Crossing. What’s for supper?

Dede’s girlfriend was most of the time the one cooking supper for the both of us. I did not really understand why she started cooking for us in the first place, but I liked her cooking very much. Not for the reason of laziness, but for the fact that her cooking was delicious. Besides, she never seemed to mind before. As for why we keep calling Dede is another story. I don’t remember the details of it exactly, but I do remember that it did have something to do with somebody he knew having something to do with that nickname as well. Besides, it is kind of a shortcut from Andre-Philippe, so why the hell not?

-Heh thinking with your stomach again eh Serge? Replied Dede.

-It’s hard to think with anything else when it’s empty...

As I was describing how hungry I was from a long day at the college, I heard from the distance:

-I’ll make something in a minute. Did you want steak or pork chops?

-Steak is always nice. Thank you as always Mai.

Yum! I will never deny a finely cooked steak. Even though I don’t always say it, I appreciate it when she cooks us supper. Sometimes I find myself thinking if I take that for granted. I sure hope she doesn’t feel the same.

-So, anything new on the Virtual Console? Asked Dede as Mai was proceeding to the kitchen.

-Nah, nothing this week either... I replied.

He sat down next to me wondering what I was going to play.

-Since you’re here... want to play some Brawl?

-Sure, I can play while supper cooks.

I insert the game disc inside the Wii console, plug in our controllers, start up the game, and wait for the game to load. As we are waiting for the game to load, Dede turns to me and says:

-Hey, did you realize that we were getting several strange phone calls per day recently?

-Yeah, but I’m kind of used to it since last year it happened very often. It is very tiresome yes...

-I’m aware of that, but these are... stranger than usual.

    -How do you mean?

-Well, take last night for example. I answered the phone to the sound of static... and a voice.

    -A... voice?

-Yeah. I was not sure what the voice said, but it sounded like it was saying something...

    -Hmmm... that’s strange...

-Also Serge, interrupted Mai, today while you two were at school, I answered the phone to a similar static and voice, only I was able to hear some of what the voice said.

-What did you hear? I asked. This was sounding stranger by the minute.

-I was able to make out: “I’m finally here, I finally found you.”

    -Wait what?

-I know! Answered Mai abruptly. I’m getting creped out by this.

While she was talking, Mai went back into the kitchen to check on the supper, while Dede and I were already battling it out in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

-Gee, I said while she was bringing us her supper, those phone calls are kind of creepy. Do you think they’ll stop anytime soon?

-I hope so, answered Mai, this is getting annoying and creepy.

As Mai was handing us our plates, I turned off the game. Dede had won the match since I was exhausted from the day I had. I picked up my fork, and started to eat my supper.

Then evening fell before us. A sign that winter is fast approaching. I’m not a big fan of winter, since snow for me is nothing but encumbering for the roads, the walkways, and with the school closings, my progress to becoming a professional Game Designer. I don’t like school closings as much as I used to for the fact that now, when the college closes, it means that I must work harder to complete my assignments on time. On a positive note, it does give me a chance to get some extra sleep, and there isn’t snow yet in this month of October. While I was chatting on MSN with my pal Allain, I heard knocking at my door. I did not get up from my seat, since it was probably for Dede or Mai. It could not be the landlord, for we were in the middle of the month. I heard Dede open the door, and some voices, to which was followed by.

    -Serge, it’s for you.

I scratch my head while I get out of my seat. Who could it be? I wondered myself. I walked out of my room to the sight of two ladies at the door. In the light they were in, I could not tell exactly who they were...

-Euh, may I help you ladies?

-Are you Serge Richard? Asked one of the women.

    -Yes... and you are?

The one who asked whom I was burst into the apartment and hugged me to the point where I had difficulties breathing.

-Yay! I finally found you! I’m so happy! She exclaimed.

-Ack! I appreciate the affection, but I don’t know who you are...

    -Serge it’s me! Sydney!

At that moment, my eyes almost burst out of my sockets.
