Diana ventured past an old couple enjoying their walk and up over the rickety bridge. She had hoped no one noticed her missing from her hospital bed when she saw little Christian running her way. Diana slowed down to wait for him. She could see the worried and tired look on his face as he got closer and closer. He was well out of breath. As soon as Christian reached Diana he fell to his knees panting.
"Christian, what are you doing here? I thought you had lessons with your tutor today." wondered Diana.
"Yes, but he cancelled." replied Christian slowly getting to his feet.
"Christian!" Diana knew, "you snuck out again didn't you? Your mother will be very mad if she finds you here." She gave him an angry look as he went up to her.
"What about you? Why did you leave your room? Diana your not well yet. I'd hate myself if you got hurt while out here." There was silence for a few seconds as Diana's anger went away. She looked at Christian and grabbed his hand.
"I'd like to show you something" said Diana as she started walking and pulling Christian with her. He looked down at their joined hands and blushed.
"Where are we going?" asked Christian while keeping his head down and looking at the grass now being trampled by his feet.
"Shush. I just want to show you my favourite place" replied Diana, "I used to go there when I was your age. It calmed me whenever I was upset. You'll love it."
They continued through the now long grass and climbed a short hill. As they reached the top Diana looked at Christian. He was astonished which made her happy as well.
"Ah.." Diana let go of his hand as she realized they had been holding hands the whole time. She let out a smile but made sure he could not see it.
"This is wonderful!" said Christian, still amazed by the view. It was a large flower field with roses everywhere in sight. Diana pointed to a small hill and Christian looked over. The two wandered off towards it as Diana picked a couple of flowers on the way. They lay on the hill until sunset, barely speaking a word while watching clouds pass by and listening to the birds in the nearby trees. It was a beautiful day. One that would remain in their hearts for a life time.
- Title: Flower Field
- Artist: aclara
- Description: Just a part of a new story I'm writing. I'm not looking for punctuation corrections but thoughts on the actual story. This part starts after Diana had gotten hurt and hospitalized. Note that this is set back in the day before electricity. Diana: 16 years old // Christian: 11 years old // Christian has a tutor because he is from an upperclass/rich family so he has tutors instead of going to school. Diana did a really stupid thing and stacked it, breaking an arm.
