• Prologue:

She was usually considered very small and frail in the past, though inside she was really strong and had an even stronger mind. Her appearance was that of an angel. Her long light blue hair… Her stunning hazel eyes… She was truly someone special when it came to living a life in Tokyo. Much more than just a pretty face.
“Who are you?” A young boy’s voice called out, almost faintly as he stared down at a young girl lying unconscious on the ground. Her hazel eyes slowly opened and they met a worried pair of green eyes. He blinked twice and stared into her eyes clearly, causing her to stare back at him. He was about her age with short black hair, and he was accompanied by a young girl about their age with long blonde hair tied back into two ponytails and light blue eyes.
“Are you alright?” The blonde asked, helping the young girl to her feet.
“I-I think so.” She replied nervously.
“Hm… I’ve never seen you around here before.” The boy suddenly said, almost in a darker tone than what he usually spoke in, causing the two girls to look at him. “Where did you even come from?”
    “I…” The blue-haired girl began.
“Raiden, stop picking on her! That’s very rude!” The blonde said sternly, only causing the boy to roll his eyes at her.
“Oh please, Saya, spare me the details…” Raiden replied.
“Raiden… And Saya.” The blue-haired said softly. The two glanced over at her.
“So, who’re you then?” Saya asked, smiling a little bit.
“I’m Mitsuki.” The blue-haired girl replied.
“And again I ask, where did you even come from?” Raiden asked.
“I… For some reason, I just can’t seem to remember…” Mitsuki said, staring at the ground, her hazel eyes saddening.
“Oh, don’t worry so much about it. Maybe it’ll come back to you over time. Please don’t be upset.” Saya said, patting Mitsuki on the shoulder. Now, Mitsuki could only hope that was Saya had said was true. Someday… She was going to find out who she really was, and someday she would try to find out where she had come from, because winding up mysteriously in Japan surely was not on her to-do list.
“Now then… Come, Saya, we’re late for our classes. Care to join us, Mitsuki?” Raiden asked.
“Classes…?” Mitsuki began, raising an eyebrow.
“You know, like… School? We’re still in elementary, but we manage. We’re only in year 4, but-” Saya said.
“STOP SAYING ‘BUT’ ALREADY! That’s getting rather annoying, shall I state.” Raiden said, crossing his arms.
“Almost as annoying as your proper English, shall I state!” Saya said, looking at Raiden with an almost evil look on her face. Mitsuki only giggled.
“What’s so funny?!” Raiden exclaimed, not trying to be angry in his tone any longer, though he couldn’t exactly help it.
“I really think that I’m going to like being friends with the two of you.”

    Chapter 1: Five Years Later…

A young woman with long blue hair and hazel eyes stood in her bedroom window, facing her reflection. She was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with a red tie and a black plaid skirt with light red trimmings on the lacing. She was all smiles as she stared at herself up and down.
“Today’s the day, my first day in year ten, whoo!” She said, grabbing her black and blue knapsack off of the floor and walking down the steps, where a woman with long black hair and hazel eyes awaited her arrival.
“Hi honey! Are you ready?” She asked, kissing her daughter on the cheek.
“MORE than ready! I’m ecstatic! I’ve been waiting to get into high school for a really long time!”
“That’s good.” Her mother replied, only giggling at her daughter’s enthusiasm. There was suddenly a knock on the front door, causing both of the women to look over, then at each other.
“That may be Saya, I’d best be off. Can’t be late on my first day, ya know!” The girl said, running towards the door with a smile. Then she looked back at her mother. “I love you, mom.”
“As to you.” Her mother replied.

She opened the door, closing it behind her, and not even thinking to look forward. “Hey Saya, are you ready for-” When she looked up again for the first time, she saw a young man around her age with long silver hair and grey eyes standing directly in front of her, almost looking extremely surprised as he stared over at her. “Um, excuse me, not to be rude or anything, but… Who’re you exactly?”
“I see… So you ARE still alive…” He said, still staring at her. She looked dumbfounded by what this boy was saying to her.
    “What…?”
“Hm… Guess they were wrong. I still believed that you were still out there somewhere, but they didn’t even want to listen to what I had been saying to them… Wait until they learn that you’re around!”
“Wha- Who ARE you?! And who are these people that you’re talking about, and what do you want with ME?”
“Mitsuki-chan!” A female’s voice called out. She looked over, spotting a girl with long blonde hair tied back into two ponytails and ocean blue eyes, wearing the same uniform as she was. Mitsuki let out a sigh of relief, and then she looked over at the girl.
“Give me just a minute, Saya!” Mitsuki called back. She looked over in the direction where the boy was supposed to be standing, but he had disappeared. “Wha…?” She rubbed her eyes and blinked twice, and still the boy did not reappear. Saya walked over and grabbed her by the hand.
“C’mon! We’re ALREADY gonna be late, and we need to get to school NOW to find out what our courses are!”
“O-Okay!” Mitsuki exclaimed as Saya dragged her off, giggling. She looked back towards her home, wondering who that boy truly was.

“Oh my gosh, look at that guy over there, that one with the spiked blond hair! He’s SO cute!”
“Oh, c’mon, Saya, he’s in year 12. If we even had a slim chance with him, then he would approach US. And besides, I’ve told you once before I wouldn’t date ANY guys that are over a year older than me.” Mitsuki said.
“Are you still missing Raiden?” Saya asked, putting a hand on her best friend’s shoulder. Mitsuki only looked away.
“…He didn’t have to leave Japan, but… He wanted to do what was right for his family. If that was what he had wanted, then I wasn’t going to stop him.” Mitsuki said.
About a year ago, Mitsuki, Saya and Raiden all had to part ways forever because he was supposed to be moving away to America with his family. Raiden had begged and pleaded for his parents to allow him to stay in Japan with his elder brother while his parents and his younger sister had left for America, but in the end, it still wasn’t enough to let him stay there.
“I wonder if he’s still alright… He’s probably long forgotten about us by now…” Saya said, her eyes saddening.
“Are you kidding me?! I’m sure he’d never forget about his two best friends and that he’s fine and happy again.” A male’s voice called out from behind the two. Both girls turned around, spotting a young man with black hair and green eyes. He was wearing a similar uniform to the two girls, only he word a long-sleeved black shirt, a red tie, and long black pants that covered his ankles.
“RAIDEN!” Saya and Mitsuki exclaimed, both of them pouncing on him, tackling the young man with hugs and kisses on the cheek (The kisses were from Saya).
“Wha- Oh, gross, Saya, stop it!” Raiden exclaimed, laughing as he wiped his cheek off with his tie.
“What’re you doing back here?! I thought that you were staying in America!” Saya exclaimed.
“I was finally able to persuade my parents to let me come back, at least until high school is over. I’m staying with my brother. They said I can stay here, as long as I visit during the vacations that we have off from school.” Raiden said.
“Why did you come back?” Mitsuki asked, hugging him again. Raiden smiled and then pulled her into an embrace.
“I missed you guys too much. I never stopped thinking about you while I was living my life in America. I just couldn’t bear it any longer. And I wanted to come back here for high school.”
“Tokyo, Japan just hasn’t been the same without you here, Raiden.” Saya said. Mitsuki nodded in agreement.
“Nice to see you again too after a whole year too!” Mitsuki said. Then she looked to her left and spotted the same boy that she had seen earlier. His grey eyes now seemed rather satisfied as he watched over the group. “Uh, guys, could you excuse me for a few minutes? I’m gonna run to the bathroom, okay?”
“Sure.” Raiden said with a smile.
“Alright.” Saya said, beaming. Mitsuki turned down an empty hallway and shut her eyes. She reopened them and then she looked forward, not turning around. She didn’t need to. She already knew that he was there.
“I know that you’re watching me. What is it that you want from me?” He walked over, standing directly next to her.
“You are Mitsuki Uchida, am I correct?” He asked. Mitsuki looked up at the boy, almost glaring. “So, I AM right then.”
“Yeah, I’m Mitsuki, what’s it to you?” She shouted, turning to leave. The boy suddenly held up a hand, pulling her back using a strange sort of wind force. Her eyes widened as she felt air pulling her backwards. “What the hell?! What do you even WANT with me?!”
“What I want is answers. You don’t even know who you really are anymore. A little over five years ago, you awoke in this city with no memory of what had occurred before and how you had even arrived there. All you knew was that something was not right.” He stated. Mitsuki took a step back.
    “H-How did you know about-”
“I have known about you since you were but a young child.” He said.
“Stay away from me!” Mitsuki shouted. The boy suddenly flung himself onto her, covering her mouth to keep her from yelling out. Mitsuki acted quickly, stomping on his foot and then punching him in the mouth, causing him to release her. “Like I said, stay away from me!” Then she broke into a run, turning a corner.
“Damn, she’s strong…” He said to himself, wiping blood from his bottom lip.

Mitsuki ran into a large room, finding a large group of students flooding the entire area, talking with one another.
“Oh… This must be the auditorium, and all of these students must be all of the year ten inductees.” Mitsuki said to herself, beginning to walk around. “Wow, I never thought high school could be so… Unreal!” That was until she had suddenly bumped into someone. “Oh! Pardon me, I-”
“Watch it!” The person shouted angrily. The person turned and Mitsuki saw that this was a boy with messy brown hair and brown eyes. “Oh, it’s a girl!”
“Ooh, she’s pretty cute, eh Hideki?” Another boy with short black hair and red eyes said, snickering.
“Cute? No, she is SEXY. What’s your name, cookie?” Hideki asked, moving a little bit closer to Mitsuki. Mitsuki took a few steps back and then ran into the wall. Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind blasted Hideki far away from Mitsuki as soon as he had made an attempt to touch her. “What the hell?!”
“Huh?!” The other boy shouted out. Mitsuki gasped, looking up and spotting the boy yet again.
“Why the hell do you keep following me?! I thought I said leave me alone!”
    “Not MY orders.” He replied.
“Who is she talking to?” Hideki whispered to his friend, who only shrugged at the very idea of who this girl could be speaking to.
    “My apologies, miss, but-”
“Dammit, COME WITH ME! NOW!” Mitsuki exclaimed angrily, grabbing the silver-haired boy by the arm and dragging him off.
“…I’m beginning to think that this girl is psycho. What about you, Akihiko?” Hideki asked.
“Psycho? More like… Possessed. Maybe we oughta head off and talk to the exorcist in the town.” Akihiko replied.
    “….You mean Haruhi Takamoto?”
“YES, HARUHI TAKAMOTO!” Akihiko exclaimed, grabbing Hideki by the arm and leading him off.
“B-But we can’t leave the campus!”
“We can if you know the right ways HOW to leave the campus without getting caught.” Akihiko beamed.
    “But how do-”
    “Just trust me!”

Mitsuki dragged the boy outside, sitting down on a bench. The boy just stood directly above her, not saying a word.
“….Aren’t you gonna sit?” Mitsuki asked.
“I wish to stand.” He replied, shrugging. Mitsuki looked at him for a few moments as if she knew him from somewhere, but then shook it off.
“Okay, fine, whatever. Just tell me who you really are and why you’ve been following me around here since I left home for school.” Mitsuki said.
“My name is Ichiro Koyama. I truthfully cannot tell you about why I have been following you around. Not yet.” He said.
    “How come?”
“Because the time has not come yet.”
“Time? The time for what, exactly?” Mitsuki asked, practically pleading to know exactly what this boy had meant.
“Mitsuki?” Raiden’s voice called. Mitsuki looked up, spotting the black-haired boy standing above her, carrying his knapsack in his hand.
“Oh! Hey, Raiden, what’s up?” Mitsuki looked at Raiden for a moment, and then turned to look in the direction where Ichiro was, but he had disappeared, causing her to only roll her eyes. “Coward…” Raiden sat down next to her.
“I heard you talking to yourself. Is something wrong?”
“Just, uh, getting some air. I haven’t been feeling too well lately.” Mitsuki said. “That wasn’t really a lie, was it…? I mean, I HAVE been feeling a little bit sick for the past couple of days…”
    “Oh… I see… Hey, Mitsuki… You know something?”
“Hm?” She said, looking at him.
“The year I’ve been gone, I just couldn’t take my mind off of you. I kept having flashbacks of the day Saya and I found you, then our first day in year seven… Even our first outing, just the two of us. I just didn’t know what to think from these memories.”
“I…I can’t really understand it either, to be truthful to you.” Mitsuki said, blushing a little more.
“Mitsuki… I think that I-” Just then the school bell rang, and Raiden sighed heavily. “…Gotta go. Sorry. See you later, I guess…”
“…Okay…” Mitsuki said as Raiden got up and walked off towards his next class. As she watched him walk back into the campus, Mitsuki slumped. “HE WAS GONNA SAY THAT HE LOVED ME!” Tears ran down her cheeks as she began hitting the bench.

Mitsuki walked through the halls of the school slowly, carrying her geometry book and her journal in her arms, sighing heavily.
“Problem?” Ichiro suddenly called. Mitsuki didn’t even turn around.
“Why’d you leave so suddenly when Raiden showed up?” She said dryly.
“I didn’t want to interrupt you, and only you are able to see me… So far, at least.” Ichiro said. Mitsuki froze in mid-walk and turned around.
“What did you mean by THAT?!”
“…You’re the only person that can really see-”
“Oh, I got that part. I meant that first part you said.” Mitsuki shouted. Ichiro shushed her immediately. “….Seriously, Ichiro.”
“You know as well as I do what he had intended to say to you.” Ichiro said, smirking as he said this. Mitsuki could feel a blush coming up her cheeks. She DID know.
    “…He really DOES love me…?”
“Well, you’ll find out sooner or later.”
“Can you tell me who or what you are NOW?” Mitsuki pleaded.
    “I cannot.”
“Please??” Mitsuki pleaded, pouting a little, her hazel eyes looking as if they were saddening and widening all at the same time.
“…Very well…” Ichiro said, feeling defeated now. “But we’ll need to go someplace private, AWAY from your home or your school…”
“Oh, I know the most PERFECT place! C’mon, I’ll take you there!” Mitsuki said, grabbing him by the arm and then running, pulling him along with her, giggling. Ichiro looked dumbfounded at first, but then smiled a little.

Within moments, Ichiro and Mitsuki found themselves outside of a small cavern abounded by small glowing crystals that seemed to act as small lanterns.
“Wow…” Ichiro whispered, smiling a little.
“Raiden, Saya and I found this place when we were lit- Well, YOUNGER. I was still only nine years old when I first arrived in Tokyo, but I’m sure you already knew that much.” Mitsuki said, giggling afterwards.
“It’s beautiful…” Ichiro said, amazed by the appearance of the crystal caverns. The two began to walk into the caverns, both of the teens seeming satisfied that they were together in the walkway.
