The full moon shone bright outside. My friend Tyler and I were sitting on my front porch, gazing at the stars. Tyler has a crush on me and he thinks I don't know. "Hey, um, Tyler, it's 9:48 P.M. and I'm busy tomorrow. Maybe you should go home. I'll come with... if you want." I said. Tyler grinned and nodded. We stood up and walked towards the empty street. It was a red light, but he and I decided not to go yet just in case.
It was getting later, so Tyler and I started crossing. We made the mistake of walking as a Jeep was coming. It all happened so quickly, yet it felt like it was in slow motion. Tyler and I were in the middle of the street. The Jeep was coming faster towards us. Tyler pushed me out of the way, leading to me face up on the concreat with a scraped arm. The truck hit him in the chest and kept going, like those "Hit-and-Run" scenes in the movies.
I jumped up, ignoring my injured arm. I threw myself to the ground again, only this time next to Tyler. "Tyler! Tyler! Speak to me!" I screamed. Tears trailed down my cheeks. It started raining. Not just raining, but storming. Thunder and lightning cracked and hard, cold raindrops hit my back. Wow, I thought. Tyler was willing to give away his life so I can live. Then, his eyes slowly opened. "R... Rami? Are you t... there?" He whispered. "Yes Tyler, I'm here. I wouldn't leave you behind." I replied. A tree branch hit the back of my head, causing my head to smash against Tyler's.

"Doctor, will he be ok?" I asked Tyler's doctor; Dr. Walsh. "Yes, he'll be fine. He broke his neck, his left leg, and his right arm, though. It'll be weeks before he recovers." He said, then added, "It's my lunch break now. You stay with him until nurse Tammy gets here, which that'll be in ten minutes." Then he walked out of the room and shut the door. "Tyler... you saved me." I said, trying to let this sync into my head. Then, without noticing it, I leaned in to kiss his lips.
