As we splayed out on Scooby-Doo blanket you took from your bed, I sighed in content to myself. It was perfect; the stars shone brightly above us as I laid against your chest with your arms around me, talking and laughing and simply being. In my ear I could hear your heartbeat racing as it always did when we were close. It made my heart smile and my tummy flutter to know your heart beat so fast for me...
As we laughed about nothing and talking about everything, a beautiful glimmery light appeared in the corner of my sight. I was speechless as the light swiftly glided across the obsidian sky, making both our voices silent as we sat up and were in awe of the sheer beauty and simplistic grace. With a smile I turned to you, watching the beautifully tan skin around your warm brown eye wrinkle a bit with your smile. As I gently tugged at one end of the long silky strands of dark brown hair I began to speak, letting the softness of my voice cushion the words.
"That star, Billy, is only for us." I grinned as you glanced at me with a somewhat puzzled look. I giggled and gently leaned forward stopping naught but a few inches from your face. "Only the lucky share the stars, love; those lucky enough to have found their star know of the real beauty of it. Of the feel, the warmth, the joy, the light, the sheer perfection of it." I cupped my hands around your face and moved closer, lowering my voice to a whisper.
"Then that star doesn't mean anything to us." You muttered. It was my turn to hold the puzzled look upon my face, which only made your smile grow with your dazzling laugh. As your lips pressed warmly against mine and your arms went around me, my mind went fuzzy for a moment. As the kiss ended, you kept your lips close to mine, so close in fact that I felt your breath on them.
"How so, Billy?" I asked, wrapping my arms around your neck.
"Because I've found my star. And my star isn't soaring through the sky or perched on a dream in the night. Lucky for me, I get to wrap my arms around my star and hold her close." I smiled and felt my face grow warm and tingly we kissed again.
"And I am just as lucky to have mine here with me tonight. All the other stars can look down in jealousy and envy, as I'm sure they do." I stared into your eyes for a few silent, wondrous moments before pressing my forehead against your and closing my eyes. "I love you so much, Billy..." I whispered and felt my words smile.
"And I you, Jaysee. More than you could imagine." I smiled wider and kissed your brow, running my hands softly through your hair.
"...So can I braid your hair, please?" I bubbled, leaning back and meeting your eyes. You shrugged your shoulders and held up your hands.
"No! I already told you, there will be NO hair-braiding. I'm not Indian, dammit." I laughed at your irritated and exasperated tone.
"Awws, but it's just so soft! Pleeeeease?" I pleaded. The only response was a sigh. With a giggle I pressed your back down to the blanket and moved my hands in the right motion to braid. You gripped my wrists and struggled as we giggled and wrestled lovingly over the on-going issue of your hair as the stars watched and laughed with us as well.

Good story, but the adjectives are beyond awkward 99% of the time. I feel like when you write a normal word, you just go directly to your thesaurus. This detracts heavily from the story.
“I notice that you use plain, simple language, short words and brief sentences. That is the way to write English - it is the modern way and the best way. Stick to it; don't let fluff and flowers and verbosity creep in." - Mark Twain - Report As Spam
