Memory
An empty white room. You look around, there is nothing. A bell rings, it chimes once. A grandfather clock stands against one of the walls. Yet it has the colour of smoke and not wood. Why?
The bell rings again, it is the clock. It chimes twice. A table in the centre of the room, an air of despair surrounding it.
The bell. Three chimes. A solitary chair, thrown carelessly to the floor. Four chimes. A picture on the table, two smiling faces looking out into the bleak atmosphere. Five chimes. One wall becomes red, darknening to blackness. Six chimes. A figure slumped against the wall. Seven chimes. Tears splash onto the table. Eight chimes. An intake of breath, sharp and shocked. Nine chimes. Another figure sitting on a chair. Ten chimes. A foul stench fills the air. Eleven chimes. A gun on the table. Twelve chimes. The sitting figure stands, picks up the gun, puts it to its head, "I'm sorry."
BANG!
Then blackness. Your last memory was that face. You knew it.
