The fox is sly.
She worms through the underbrush, and she dances around the trees. Getting under the fence is not a tall task; the farmer forgets to re-nail that one particular board every time.
But the fox is also a fool. For she has become too familiar with the way that works; Simply slipping into the hen house and sinking her teeth into the fattest one present.
She hadn’t expected the dogs, snapping their canines and chasing her with vigor. The fox is sent in frenzy, feet scrambling and legs pumping, running as fast is its little legs will carry her.
While the dogs -- vicious, deadly and bloodthirsty -- follow close behind. They follow the fox as a trio; practically Cerberus protecting Hell’s Gate.
The fox has very narrowly escaped the hungry jaws of the trio, worming into a small hole beneath a tree. Their heads are trying to fit into her hideaway while their jaws snap against the air, finding no purchase into the fox’s flesh. Only the moist night air accompanies their snapping muzzles.
There is a loud call; A whistle, calling the trio of nightmares back. They reluctantly return to their master’s call, not very keen on leaving their prey. The fox is left alone, and still very hungry.
However, the fox is adaptable. It’s time for her to go to the other farm, just down the road.
