"WHAT!" I slammed my fist down on the square wooden table I was sitting at. My dad nodded.
"Yeah, this summer." He crossed his arms and with his its final stare told me to go pack. I slumped knowing it was no use yelling or fighting with him.
"How long?" I shoved my hands into my sweatshirt pockets.
"Two weeks." He said with a pleased smile. I turned and left without another word.
"I'll be back in an hour. You better be packed and prepared to leave tomorrow!" He called down the hall. I gave a sort of whatever grunt then stomped up the stairs and jerked a bunch of clothes out of my closet and began stuffing them into my red suit case.
I can't last two weeks. I laid back on my bed. I won't be able to hang out with my friends here, I won't get to see Andy, or Danny. I sat back up trying to figure out the perks of leaving all my friends for two weeks to live with my alcoholic mom. There wasn't any.
"SCREW THIS CRAP!" I threw my round crimson colored pillow across the room, it hit my wall then landed on the floor. What the heck will I do for those two weeks? I pulled out my cellphone about to call Andy and tell him when I was interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Go away Tames." He opened the door slightly and peeked in.
"What did you not understand about going away!" I was really upset and he knew it.
"You don't need to use words like that." I threw a pillow at him, but missed and hit the wall instead.
"Shut up." He shrugged and pulled his light brown teddy bear closer to him and smiled.
"Dad is going to be home in five minutes, I hope your done packing." I rolled my eyes and pointed to the suit case. There were sleeves and a tennis shoe string sticking out the sides.
* * * * *
"Are you done repacking Gage?" My dad called from down stairs. It was Friday. I gave a loud sigh and opened the door.
"Yeah I am done packing." My suit case wasn't very heavy, but I still had my brother take it downstairs and to our 2004 silver Pontiac Grand Prix car, I followed slowly, dragging my feet with every step.
"Please don't make me do this!" I finally begged. I stared at my dad who unlocked the doors and ducked inside.
"Get in the car." I could tell he was irritated but I kept on.
"What do I have to do! I will get on my knees and beg and plead! I will kiss the dirt you stand on, anything to keep me away from the she demon I have to call mom!" He looked at me a little amused at my nickname for her.
"Nope you have to go!" I slid into the car and slammed the door as hard as I could. Big no no. If there is anything my dad loves more then me and Tames, it would be his car and slamming it is like disrespecting it. And really it was.
"DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON MY CAR!" He yelled. I crossed my arms and rolled down the window letting the wind blow in my face. Him yelling at me only made me angrier. Up front I could hear Tames laugh then cough trying to cover it. I clenched my jaws and glared at him the whole 8 hours to Mississippi I could see the hairs on his neck stand up when he finally noticed it.
