• Snow falls all around,
    Untouched by wind.
    It falls silently and slowly,
    Blending into the snow already fallen.
    Untouched by life
    Cold and deadly.
    Meant for fun,
    Others for an end.

    A girl lies in the freshly fallen snow. Her footprints were light, and covered quickly. She does not lie to make a snow angel. She wants to stare at the sky, and watch the snow fall silently.
    She is not wearing enough to keep her warm. She does not move so the snow can cover her. Only her chest and eyes move.
    She left without notice. She is quiet that way. She does not care if she is found. Her destiny will decide that. No one will notice her absence for some time. She has no friends to notice that. Attention is what she wants.
    Her arms and legs are now covered. She just continues to stare at the sky. She always loved how the snow looked untouched. Now she will become apart of it. Her heartbeat and breathing slows. She closes her eyes to let the snow cover her face.
    She does not notice a vehicle pull up. She does not notice people getting out. She does not notice that she is lifted from her beloved snow into the vehicle. All she does notice is the warmth.
    She wakes in a sterile and white room to find her parents there. Her mother cries at the foot of the bed. Her father has a hand on her shoulder and is staring at the ground. They notice she is awake and they feel relieved.
    Then her mother yells at her. She yells because she does not know why her daughter did this. She yells because her daughter made them worry. She yells because she does not want her daughter doing anything like it again.
    Her mother does not understand that she just wanted attention. She gets what she wants from her act. Her story is told on television. Her story is told on the Internet. Her story is told in the newspaper:

    She got attention, but her side is not told. People do not know why she did it, and they do not ask. Her parents give her grief because her act has caused them to be known as bad parents. Kids at her school that once thought she was weird, now think she is crazy.
