I heard my parents yell for us, and started dragging my sister along behind me, on our way out. The reason why we were looking for this necklace is that it held powers only certain people could imagine, and if it fell into the wrong hands something could go terribly wrong.

I finally made it back to my parents, when I heard Matt's door creak, as he came back into the house it was time to have some fun scaring him, and getting questions of my chest about what to do with Mae once she finds out about my family, and I being vampires, Matt being a were and everything else that happened to be out there.

Also since I broke into his house again I'd probably get a lecture from him too, oh well.

I got up quietly and made my way around his house to his kitchens entrance where I sat down right next to his fridge and stuck out one of my legs. He had turned on the lights right after he had dropped his jacket on the coach, and was making his way to the kitchen, not even checking to see if anybody was here.

And just like I had thought, the first thing he did was come to the kitchen. He had eventually tripped on my leg that was in front of the fridge, and cussed on his way where his face would meet the ground.

"What the heck?!" I heard him yell. Matt turned his head to see me. Lifting the bag I waved at him boredly. "Alastair you know you could give me a heads up, when you break into my house at least!" He yelled at me.

"And where would the fun in that be? You can see in the dark anyways, seeing as you're part mutt," I said rudely.

"What's gotten your knickers in a twist? And I'm a werewolf what do you expect?" Matt questioned.

"I'm worried about Mae, and I'd expect that being part dog you could at least smell when a person is in your home," I said as I had gotten up. "Now do you want to talk on an empty stomach, or on some Chinese that I bought for you?" I asked.

"Chinese?" Matt asked. "The good kind?" He asked again raising his eyebrow, I nodded to answer. He grabbed the bag, and began to walk towards his living room. "Common let's eat and get your lovey dovey business over with," He said irritably.

As we sat he was already go through snarfing the food down. "So what's this all about?" He asked with a mouth full. "I mean I understand that your parents are making you chose a bride, but why?" Matt asked with a mouth full of sesame chicken.

"Oh you don't know?" I asked mockingly.

"Know about what? Wait you haven't told me something? And I've known you how long?!" Matt said accusingly towards me.

"I'm sorry it's never crossed my mind till now," I looked at him seriously, starring at him in the eyes so he'd get how serious it was. "Only few people still know about this now a days Matt. Since you grew up as a human most of your life till, well you turned werewolf at your younger age, you wouldn't know this," I said as he seemed to get the point by now. "Down where the mythical creatures live, there's royalty," I told him looking away. I heard the food drop out of his mouth at this point.

"Dude you mean you like a royal vampire?!" I looked at him to see a rather excited smile. Nodding, I sighed not very excited myself he was excited. "That's awesome~!" He said kind of singy.

"No it's not," I said glaring at him. "Do you know how long it took my parents to get away from that life, and hide my sister and I from it till now?" I asked bluntly. Matt seemed to back off from me a bit after hearing that come from me.

"What exactly happened to your family before they got away then?" Matt asked me. "I mean it must not be like in the movies then. Where you get all the attention, servants, and the fancy castle. Right?"

"Yeah," I said pausing. "Instead it was more like dictatorship over the vampire realm," I told him disappointed for who ever was the leader before my time. "It wasn't as kind as what like a king and queen would be," Matt saw that this was starting to bother me, so he changed the subject, which I appreciated quite a bit.

"Okay now about Mae!" He said considerably loud.

"Right," I said dragging out the word. "Well I'm worried what she'll do when she figures out that mythical creatures are real. You've seen what other girls have done!" I exclaimed.

"Like what?" Matt asked. I forgot he wasn't as old as me, him being only about 23 himself and then me who looks the same age, but actually is about two hundred thirty years old.

"Well you know? They'll most likely run away screaming like a maniac attacked them, faint, stare at you, or well that's all I can think of," I told him.

"Oh right but that seems kind of cliché doesn't it?" He asked.

"I don't know maybe I'm worrying too much," I said to Matt as I laid my head on the couches head rest.

"What about other creatures who know what your parents are making you do?" Matt asked.

"Huh?" I opened one eye to look at him.

"I mean other creatures who know about Mae do you think they'll go after her maybe. They might just try and kill her so there won't be no heir to the kingdom, huh?" Matt explained.

Mae being hurt by another creature, just so I wouldn't be in charge of the kingdom? That's just not right. I got up right then and there, and opened his front door forcefully.

"Hey where do you think you're going?" Matt yelled at me.

"Well now that you say something about her being hurt, I won't let that happen!" I yelled back at him making my way quickly through his side of the city, to make it to Mae's side to watch her building for tonight. I wasn't going to be like Edward from Twilight I mean that's just starkerish in my opinion watching her sleep. I was just going to sit outside her building on the other side of the street is all, reading a newspaper.
