• All I was doing was looking for Leigh's rabbit. I didn't mean to fall into the hole. Leigh was screaming, I was screaming, and we screamed in sync. Only after a moment, Leigh's screams were gone. Things hit me, and cut me and broke me into pieces. I hadn't a clue what was happening. Thing's passed me: beds, pianos, clocks, cats? I don't know. Tears ran from my eyes an floated upwards as I fell. And when I hit the floor, All I felt was pain, and confusion. How could something like this happen? All me and Leigh were doing was looking for her little white rabbit, that damned thing. And now here I was. Lost, in some strange world, probably. Everything below my hips was numb, as was my right arm. My left arm felt wet and warm, probably with my blood. All I could think was pain, pain, PAIN. I voice entered my reverie from what seemed like far away, but in fact was right above me. "Who is she?" a male voice, husky and stratchy, but worried. For me? "I dunno." This time it was female, and hers was cold and uncaring, but even in my state I could detect a hint of worriedness in her tone. I felt arms wrap under me and pick me up. "We need to get her to the nurse. Now. Driedrik, you're in charge. I'll be back."
I didn't know what was happening. I assumed the female voice was 'Driedrik'. "Okay, Crendall. But you can't be long. You know that." And the male was 'Crendall'. Suddenly, I heard running footsteps and wind was stinging my cuts. The man, 'Crendall', cooed assurances of my health non-stop, but even I could hear my heart faltering. "Shh, shh, look, we're here now. You'll be fine. You'll be fine. You'll be fine." It sounded as if he was trying to reassure himself.
"Nurse! Nurse, I need you here now!" he called, and I heard light footsteps cross a floor to get to me. "What is i-- Oh, goddess, what the hell happened to her?!" a light, airy female voice floated around me and engulfed me in calm. "Here, lay her down here, Crendall. Where did she come from?" the voice came again. I wished she wouldn't stop talking, but I couldn't say that. My eyes were still closed as I was lowered onto a soft canopy. "I dunno, Nurse. She just fell out of the hole, you know, the one on top of the headquarters. And she crashed on the floor, and she was screamin', and crying, and she was as red as one of Heart's soldiers."
"Okay. We need to get her to open her eyes. Hear that, hun? Open your eyes, sweetheart, the scary part is gone. Come on now. Crendall, you do that, I need to ge some supplies from the back." Her footsteps retreated, and I guess I was left with Crendall. "Come on, biscuit, come on. Open those eyes. I bet you have some pretty peepers." Against my will, my eyes fluttered open. The first thing I saw was the scarred but handsome face of who I guess was Crendall.
He had a crop of blond hair and baby blue eyes. Crendall was huge; not just tall, but muscular, too. His face got even more handsome when he grinned. "Ahh, that's better. Oh, look, you have gray eyes. Now that's strange. They look almost white." Then he turned to the left, staring across from my canopy. "Nurse! Her eyes are open!" He yelled. I lolled my head from left to right, taking in my surroundings. What I saw shocked me.
I was in a nursing tent. The flap was open enough so I could see outside. The sky was red, and now that I listened, I heard gunfire everywhere. Soldiers decked in white were as tiny as toys in the distance, and they fought soldiers dressed in red. When I looked farther, I saw smoking buildings, shattered houses, and even worse sights.
    I had fallen into a war-torn land.
And there was no way out.'
