• "Taco! Can't you hold that animal still?? I can't draw what can't sit still!" Amethyst, a back talking tomboyish girl with maroon hair and sharp, white teeth whined to her blond haired friend Tacola, whom insisted on being called Taco.

"I'm trying! Nacho isn't exactly tame yet!" she cried trying to hold down a squirming wolf with a distinct scar on it's muzzle and brown, shaggy fur with gray and sandy colored stripes and spots.

"You named it Nacho?" Another girl, whom everyone called Candy, with short, light brown hair and a sucker in her mouth, asked. She and Amethyst were sitting back to back from each other, using one another's back for support as she read a book and Amethyst attempted to draw.

"Not goanna ask..." Amethyst muttered with a chuckle.

"I'll tell you why," Taco explained with a big smile "because he's nacho wolf!" All the girls began laughing loudly at their friend's pun.

"YO YO!! WASSUP!!" Reagan, one of the crazier girls of the group, cried, her wild reddish hair fluttering in the lightest breeze. Amethyst jumped a bit.

"Where the crap did you come from?!" She cried. Reagan pointed to a basketball goal only a few yards away. "Huh... you think I would have noticed that," Amethyst mumbled to herself with a chuckle

"Dude, how's it goin? Huh?" Julie, a naturally cool and calm (yet somewhat unpredictable at times) asked sitting down on the edge of the concrete, her cropped black hair stylized into sort of a Mohawk glistening in the slightly hidden sunlight.

"Nacho! Nacho! Stop it! H-hold s-still! Gahhh!" There was a loud plop, catching all the girls' attention.

"HAHA! TACO FELL IT THE MUD!!" Reagan exclaimed as the blond girl looked up from the watered down dirt.

"So not funny!" She whined standing up shakily.

"Yeah well, you know how easy it is to amuse her." Candy interjected without looking up from her book. Amethyst rolled her eyes and flipped the page in her sketch pad.

"Guess I'll draw a cobra or something." She murmured as she stood up, she had completely forgotten Candy was using her back for support.

"CRIKEY!" She whined as she fell over. Amethyst looked back for a moment and gave her a tiny salute.

"G'day mate!" She said in her all too well known Australian accent.

"You bloody bloat! Warn me!" Candy wailed in a British accent. They started yelling at each other in what seemed to be another language.

"You followin' any of this?" Taco asked leaning over to Julie.

"Huh? Nah I don't really go with the flow that much" She replied moving her arm like a wave as it traveled up it and to her other one. Just then Candy and Amethyst grew quiet; a boy with short black hair sipping a soda was sauntering their way.

"Code C!" Candy exclaimed cupping her hands over her mouth. Amethyst began stomping her foot on the ground.

"No, no, NOO-OO! Not code C! aaannnyything but code C! I'D EVEN TAKE CODE M!!!" She wailed placing her face in her hands; she then noticed tall grass not too far away. "If he asks where I am… I went to China." She said as she leapt in the grass. All the girls snickered in delight at their friend's reaction.

"Hey y'all! Where's Amethyst?" the boy asked as he got close enough.

"Not here Conner." Julie replied quickly

"She went to china!" Reagan added, following her desperate friend's request. Conner looked around and wrinkled his nose.

"She's here….My nose burns." He insisted walking toward the tall grass as he sniffed the air. Amethyst just lay there, trying her best to remain inconspicuous. "Oooohhhh Amy…. I can smell you…. You smell like cinnamon…. As always…..you're…… right…HERE!" He said slowly, suddenly pouncing in the grass. Amethyst let a yelp of shock and surprise as the boy landed on her.

"CONNER! GET OFF ME!" She wailed loudly. Suddenly, Conner came flying out of the grass and landed in a ditch a few meters away

"Is that a no for Sunday?" he called standing up and dusting off his already filthy pants.

"Conner…..I'm goanna say this slowly so even a moron like you could understand." She explained. "You got that?"

"yes." He replied with his stupid grin.

    "I"

    "Ok"

    "Will never"

    "Uh huh."

    "Go out with you."

"Any why not?" he questioned, his grin breaking out into a full-on smile, which seemed to catch her off guard.

"B-because I don't want to!" she stammered looking away.

"Ooooooo….. Conner…. I think she likes you." Julie teased

"SHUT UP!!" Amethyst whined, folding her arms, her cheeks growing a bit red.

"Why are you blushing then?" Candy asked, laughing, only making Amethyst's red face rosier.

"It's hot out here!" She complained.

    "Well then, let's go inside."

"I ain't goin in there! Mandy's in there! Going there is like…. Suicide!" Taco declared "And amethyst…. Let's face it... You're as cold as stone! How could you be hot out here?" She questioned folding her arms.

"That's just it! I'm always cold and sensitive to heat" She replied as she sauntered her way to a tree. She spotted a small little puppy and eagerly ran to it, but it ran away into the woods. She looked on in despair.
