Astraeus, God of the Dusk,
was an astrological deity who created many stars in the night,
and he ushered in the birth of new planets in the solar system. As time passed by, he married the Goddess of Dawn, Eos, and together as they created nightfall and daybreak, likewise they produced many children.
They in turn received 4 Sons of the Wind; Notus, Boreas, Eurus, and Zephyrus. Moreover, they created the 5 Astra Planeta that we see in the solar system as today; ( the 5 Wandering Stars/ Planets ).
But among these 5 Wandering Planets, there was one small, immature star floating in the galaxy all by his lonesome. The little spark, was barely a planet, let alone a powerful source, thus he was the runt of the litter whom nobody take notice of since he was merely a little spark.
His dim light barely glowed in the dark, and his salute was often mistaken for that of a shadow from his older brothers or sister. However, as insignificant as his astral body was, he will not give up in finding his true purpose in the solar system. On the day after a decade of his birth, the lone star asked his father, the titan-God; Astraeus, while they were alone for a chance;
"Father, why am I so different from my siblings?" asked the little star.
"What do you mean my littlest star?" inquired Astraeus.
"I am neither as outstanding as brother Phainon and his large ring, nor am I as strong as brother Pyroeis. I can't shine brightly in the night as the Great Star the Sun, and people can't take notice of me for shining so dimly in your sky" whimpered the small star as he cling onto the robe of his father and began to weep in sorrow.
"Little one, all planets and stars are created differently, each has his/her own purpose to fill in the galaxy. One day you will understand what is your purpose in the galaxy, my little star" Astraeus picked the small star up with ease and aligned him with the rest of his brothers and sister so that they are present in the sky.
On one particular night, as the 4 Sons of the Winds and 5 Astra Planeta were busy with their own duties and task. The small star sat himself in the sky looking down on a small rotating planet that he had heard from his brothers. The planet was too weird. It was blue with patches of brown and green on its surface, brothers said that planet was called; Earth.
"What an odd planet, a strange planet, and yet it is very fascinating to watch as the small creatures of Earth got up to work in the morning, while their children played in fields of grass." said the small star to himself.
It was getting dark and the lone star was not ready to leave from his spot just yet. He was entranced by the small planet and as the night loomed over the planet Earth, all the creatures got into their homes and turned off their lights.
"Probably going to bed, what a shame" said the small star.
As he was about to move away, he heard a small voice from a distant calling out to him.
"S___ _i__t, _t_r _ri_h_t" the voice called.
The little star could not make word of what it said, so he dared to venture closer to where it was coming from. To his surprise, it was coming from the planet Earth, not just that but from the Earth's creature's child.
The little star drew himself closer to the Earth's atmosphere and listen intently to his call. The closer he was, the clearer the message had become;
"Star light, Star bright, The first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Won't you please grant my wish tonight?" asked the little human creature as he looked up to the small star.
For some odd reason, the little star stood still from where he was and called out to the little Earth Creature;
"You little Earth Creature, why are you calling out to me? I am neither bright nor can I grant your wish for the night. Ask my brothers who are better in comparison to me" just as that the lone star began to drift away slowly, but before he could completely vanish into the dusk sky, he heard a sob coming from the little boy.
Panicked, the small star immediately asked him;
"Little creature why must you cry?"asked the little star.
"Because you won't grant my wish for the night, that is why" explained the little Earth Creature as he pointed his small index finger to the little star.
"But I told you, I am not as bright as my brothers nor can I grant your wish. I am different, I am merely a runt of the litter"explained the small star.
"Does it really matter? All I want is a star to hear my wish and if you could, grant it for me, please?" pleaded the little Earth Creature.
With a small sigh and a nod, the little star stayed where he was and listened to the little Earth Creature.
"I wish for a friend, who would be by my side, a friend who would lookout for me and a friend who would never betray me" wished the boy.
"Whoa there, you said a wish. A wish. You can only ask for one wish." said the little star.
"Then I wish for a friend"said the boy.
"Can't you make friends where you are?" asked the small star.
"... No one wants to be my friend."said the little boy quietly.
"Why not?" asked the little star.
"I am a limp."said the boy.
"What's a limp?"asked the star
"A limp is a person who can't do as much as the rest, I can't run as fast as the others, I can't jump, nor can I reach for high things without asking for help. People see me a bother" explained the little boy.
"Just because you're different doesn't mean you're worthless"said the little star.
"But.."just before the little Earth Creature boy could finish, he was immediately cut off by the little star.
"But nothing!! You are your own person, you are needed by others. Just because you have a small flaw doesn't mean you are any less important as any active person from where you are!!" the little star stopped himself.
So this was what his father meant by own purpose?
What a foolish little star to think he was worthless, he had a purpose, he just didn't figure it out.
"....So, does this mean you can't grant my wish?" asked the little boy.
"No, I will grant your wish. It is my purpose." said the little star.
"How will you do that?" asked the little boy
The little star pondered how he could grant the little boy's wish without disappointing him. Then a clever idea came to his line of thoughts.
"I will become your friend!!"said the little star
"Really? But how? You are all the way up in the sky and I'm all the way down here." said the little boy.
"... Then I shall come down to you!"said the little star.
" Wait!!!!"
But it was too late, the little star made its way down to the planet Earth at high velocity to the point where he was streaking lights of fire in the sky. Just as he thought he would burn in the atmosphere, he crashed on the planet's surface and injured himself.
"Little Star!!!! Little Star, can you hear me?"cried out the little boy.
The little star slowly made his way to the little boy and shook off any rubble and dirt he had on him. he turned to the little boy and said with delight.
"Here I am!!!" cried the little star.
"Oh you foolish little star! You had me worried!" said the little boy as he hugged the little star.
"I am sorry if I worried you. But on the bright side, I granted your wish as promised."cheered the little star with glee.
"But little star, that's what I wanted to tell you. If you became my friend here, won't you miss your family up there?"the little boy pointed up to the night sky.
"... I will. However, I made a promise to grant your wish and I won't take back my word of it. It is my promise to you, my friend. It is my purpose"said the little star.
The little boy was baffled as tears rolled down his cheeks, he hugged the little star and refuse to let him go.
"You are such a good star, a good star indeed"said the little boy as he wept.
"Don't you mean friend?"joked the little star.
"Haha, yes you are indeed! Oh my name is Adrian, what is yours?"asked the little boy.
The little star turned away and softly said;
"...I don't have a name."said the little star sadly as he was held.
"Then I shall name you myself!" said the little boy as he comfort the little star
As he thought of a name, he took a good look at the little star and said;
"You are from the night sky, for a small little star you are very strong. Strong little star of the night....."
"What will you name me?"asked the little star.
"I've got it!! I will name you Valentino Nacht!! It is a perfect name for you! You are strong; Valentino, and you came from the night sky; Nacht." explained the little boy.
"Ooh I like that name! But can't you make it shorter?" asked the little star.
"Hmm how about Tino then?" asked the boy.
"Perfect, my name is Valentino Nacht, but you can call me Tino" said the little star happily.
"Tino, promise me you will always be by my side?"asked the little boy.
"As long as there is night, I will always stay strong to be by your side."said Tino as he hugged Adrian.
It is our promise.
