Freshman year was both a complete disaster and so far, the happiest days of my life, ha-ha. Of course, I was aware of the drama. You don't have to be in high school to experience the drama. I'm sure when you were a child and someone took something of yours, a little drama rose. In the matters of like, love, and hate, it was all the same as my previous years. Freshman year I had thought would be extremely different. Turns out, it wasn't that extraordinary. Perhaps, its natural to be a little nervous but then you find out, it was just like the year before.
Disastrous memories . . .
Well, I'm positive that many of us have had our fair share of crushes. But I had a crush on a guy I used to talk to a lot in eighth grade and what makes this disastrous is that when freshman year came around, we stopped talking. Just like that. It hurt really. I'd pass him in the halls, offer a smile in hope that it would provoke him to talk to me. You see, I'm not usually the person to approach another. Sadly, but only occasionally, I wait for someone to approach me to chat. Considering this, talking to this boy was quite difficult. Lovesick I was because I still liked him even though we never spoke to each other. My friends, well, they took matters into their own hands and right around the time that I dropped the crush and was only hoping to be friends with him again. They wrote a note, asking him out, and gave it to him while I was standing right next to them.
Not only that, the note was folded origami style; a swan and the moment they handed it to him, I dropped my water bottle ( out of surprise ) and was chasing it around the halls as people kicked it with him watching. A had made a fool of myself and was blushing the remainder of the day.
Happiest of times . . .
I made some new friends and grew closer to those I never thought I would be close to at all. Of course, many of my friends were very outgoing. Quite the opposite of me I dare say. Still friends with them now and I hope to stay friends with them. Happiest of times was when exams came around and I was sure that I was going to fail American History because I hadn't done much studying. Turns out, I got an A. Grades are important to everybody ( well, I dearly hope so ). Getting a B is like an F to me I will honestly say so when I feel like I've done horribly on something and it turns out I did really good, who wouldn't be happy? Band was fun too, in fact, I had become smitten with one of the band members. I remember a happy but pathetic memory with them. I was speaking with their friend and when I looked over to them, they were smiling at me ( trust me, if you were me, you'd understand how that smile was just the most cutest thing imaginable . . . next to my baby sister, of course ) and when leaving, tripped over a stool to make a fool of myself. I'm rather clumsy around guys . . .
But that's high school for you. Just something you have to deal with and I'm goin' into my sophomore year soon. I know I'll be adding more memories; disastrous or happy. Doesn't matter. I'm nervous, of course but I believe I am more excited than anything else.
Well, there you go. I was bored, you see, so this is more for my entertainment than it is for you but maybe you like to read about the boring lives of the average teenager, ay? Either way, entertained or not, thank you for taking the time to read ( if you had of course ).
Boredom is no longer a problem now, ha-ha.
