• It was just another day at school.

    "Hey, Damien." I said while walking by.

    "Hi Emlyn, what's up?" I stopped and we walked to my locker.

    Everyday, the same people, the same teachers, and the same classes. Everyday since the first day of school had been the same. I don't know why, but I just went along with it. Not changing it and, actually, not wanting to. It was...fine. Why should I change it? It wasn't bad, right?

    After school I hung out with Damian, Eric, Poppy, and Mfumbe. We just did what we usually do. Walk around the city, into some of the shops, and then we went home.

    At home everything was fine too. We were all healthy, happy, and, well, fine. I had a mother, a father, 2 sisters and a little brother. Also 2 cats (one mine, one my sisters), and a dog. I guess I never really thought about it, but I have a prefect family.

    The next morning, I woke up. My eyes still shut I felt like I had to get up, even though I was exhausted. All I could do was lay there. I felt warm, almost hot under my thin quilt. I then sat up and checked my clock. It read 2:30. At first I thought it mean't 2:30 PM, but then I realized it wasn't I turned over and tried to go back to sleep.

    Something inside of me still wanted me to get up. To walk downstairs. To see want was going on. What was going on?

    I finally sit up.
    When I got up, I felt oddly awake. I then made my way downstairs. Past my parents bedroom, past my brothers bedroom, past the bathroom and downstairs. When I got downstairs I still felt hot. Almost more. I looked around my kitchen and saw it. Flames.

    At first I couldn't believe it, but how could I not? They were right there. Right in front of me.
    I looked down into the living room and there they were. I just kind of stood there, slowly taking it all in...

    "Mom ! Dad ! Drixie ! Alice ! Fion !" I yelled. It came out like a whimper.
    "Mom !! Dad !!" I yelled again...
