To and fro the branches swayed
And though it's seen it's better days
The willow gazed with pure dismay
At the creature it had attracted
It's beauty more than any other
And long they seemed to watch each other
Nature's intent, perfect lovers
As odd as it may seem
The creature squealed with much delight
But because it was so small and light
The tree's great size gave it a terrible fright
So it neared the tree no futher
The willow quietly looked on down
But the creature's stillness made him frown
So he let out a deep groaning sound
And tried to look away
The creature moved an inch or two
And knowing just what to do
It took some, just a few
And held them in the air
The tree gasped with a tremendous force
And with a branch, though small and corse
He picked up the leaves and said "Of course.."
And the creature hugged his trunk
