heart The Gal Down The Street heart
Life at Street 39
Isn't terrible
but neither is it heaven
Everyone is normal
An average kid
No flashy kid
No rich miss millionaire
only babysitting jobs
homework, and
summer at the lake
No groups,
no jocks
no nerds
no peculiar person
life is dull
But one day,
the gal down the street
came to ask
'How do you do this?"
I explained,
and saw the fire in her eyes,
the inner her,
the exploding her,
hidden in her lifeless shell.
A talent wasted,
a personality,
dismissed like trash.
She caught me,
and asked
"Yes?"
I said,
"You have great potential"
She laughed
"Everyone has,"
she replied.
"But no one dares to show it."
She left, with a glint in her eye.
The next day,
I hung out with her.
Her personality,
taking flight like
a caged bird being freed.
Exploding with such force,
so irresistable.
Yet, only her, seems to be colourful.
The rest still seem dull and boring
but colours are being painted
on them.
Life changed since then
everything was exciting
wonderful, thrilling.
The Gal down the street,
came to ask a question,
and changed my whole life.
The girl down the street.

Description:
It's about the gal down the street, on a day where I finally saw, the true her.
She changed my life, and I would always remember her.

- A bit interesting. It could be written better, though. I like the line breaks a lot - a lot of the substance of this poem comes from them. Three stars.
