-
what, but distance and plans, inhibits our bodies -
not even our bodies, our entirety -
from sticking together immovably
having a life and being nothing but human together?
there is too much, i tell you. there is too much.
these expectations, these standards, these ubiquitous glances of disapproval, these expectations for failure;
they are all too much. it is too much.
if we had no houses and we had no schools
and we had no money and killed our own food
and we ate our babies if they were too sick
and we didn't cut our hair off and ran nude and wild
we would be mates and nothing complicated, nothing strenuous,
just surviving as creatures as intended.
a profound beauty and yet impossible to attain
in cities and suburbs and recreational vehicles.
but as close as we can get to our instincts
to our animals
is as close as we get to each other
when i am yours and you are the only one left to take me.

- I love this. It's incredibly profound. And you realize what most others don't. So, bravo! This one is an automatic favorite. You also have some excellent syntax!
