• My night has fallen, my battles have all been fought. I spent my last breath, not for glory, not for money, not even for what our leaders assert is a noble cause. I fought, I tore the life from my unwilling foes, and yes, reluctantly, I submitted to the cold, enticing embrace of death. I died alone, amid the chaos of battle. No friend held my hand, or eased my passage to that dark land. I am testament to the saying that a hero, is the shortest lived of professions. And so here I stand, welcoming home my brethren who were fortunate enough to keep their lives. As they say, we cannot all be hero's, for someone must sit on the curb and clap. So here I sit, forgotten by time, abandoned by man, and clap along with the ignorant drone.
