Here I sit on a bench on the side of the
street, and I watch as you leave the salon.
And I can’t stand the thought of him kissing
your hand when you meet at the place where you’ve gone.
But cruel Fate, it would seem, has you out on a
date with a man who can’t love you like me.
Yet I dare not despair, lest I wither
and tear like the leaves of some dried-out old tree.
I must keep up my spirits and try to stay
strong, for I know that one day someone might
come along and bring end to this horrible night.
But until that day comes, I’ll just pick up the
crumbs of my heart that you leave like a trail.
And I’ll pray for a savior to help me prevail.

- Title: Laura
- Artist: mold_cloud
- Description: This is a sonnet (or at least a semi-sonnet) about a man who has been dumped by his girlfriend but can't get over her. He semi-stalks her and finds out that she's going out with someone else. The poem is named Laura because this poem is inspired by Petrarch, a man who wrote hundreds of sonnets to a woman named Laura (He was a man obsessed).
