I offered you a flower-
You wanted a bouquet.
I made jokes to entertain you-
You wanted to see a play.

I offered you my mothers ring-
You wanted something rare.
I shared with you my secret world-
You couldn't see it there.

My friends tried to make you happy-
You wouldn't even laugh.
I gave to you my life and soul-
It wasn't worth enough.
