The drone continues relentless, dulled
in my absence.
A shuffle of paper
and a muffled cough.
My eyes don’t see unfocused green life
through the portal.
The distorting mist
is what holds my attention.
Through the glass barrier the downpour
soaks my face.
I clear it away
and try to hide beneath.
A shrill bell signals the end, brings me back,
and we march.
Routines drilled in
we comply as ever.
Our short free time comes around
others relish.
Half-heartedly
I comply as ever.
A cold brick wall corner makes for
my comfortable habit.
Dark shadows run
exited at my feet.
Wind attempts to tug me away
I will stay firm.
Contemplations taunt me
no reason comes to mind.
One more class would be no less
than torture.
Cheery attempts
seem inane.
Isolation and whispers to a girl
they can’t understand.
Nor can I
but no one knows.
Who could understand this though
some psych?
A tangled mess
impenetrable.
Cold and sharp, metallic pins p***k
My bare skin.
I stare up
it stings my face.
Lost once more to the mist
drifting down.
I find solace
i feel free.

Description:
inspiration struck me in english when i was staring out of the window as normal.
it's a rare occurence that i do english work during lesson but i wrote this.
it's pretty much autobiographical,
it's my first attempt at poetry and i'd love to hear people interpretations of it.
i hope you like it. - Date: 10/01/2008

- I loved the beginning, but it slowly lost focus and became a bit more trite than I thought it would. You do a good job with a good portion of your imagery. A nice start.
