• She lies in her bed
    He sits in a chair
    She is asleep
    He can only stare

    There's nothing he can do
Her chest heaves up then down
    His eyes never leave
    His mouth always a frown

    The hospital room
    Is white as snow
    Her pigment almost matches
From her head to her toes

    Her lips
    Blue as his pants
    Her eyes
    May never dance

    She's in a sleep
    She cannot wake from
    He stays by her side
    And hopes she wakes up

    She's staying alive
    Due to machines
    Without them she's die
And he wouldn't let that be

    Three months
    She's been asleep
    He hopes she wakes up
    But knows she's in deep

    Finally a doctor
    Comes across his room
Takes a look at his wife
    And says
    "She won't wake soon"

A tear falls from his cheek
    IT echos throughout
    He cries a few more
They all splash to the ground

    "She's my wife"
He says as the doctor stares
    "I want her to know
    I'll always be there"

    The doctor looks sadly
    At the man
    "Some things we can do
And some things only you can"

The man is forced with a choice
Will she live or will she die?
    It's all up to him
    How long can she try?

    Another week passes
    Still no sign of life
He knows what he must do
    He must kill his wife

    He asks for a doctor
    And tells him his thoughts
    The doctor agrees
And they head to her spot

The doctor reached toward the plug
    The man kisses his wife
    The doctor pulls the plug
    She's no longer alive

    He rubs her cheek
    And feels a wet spot
    He looks down to see
    She'd cried
    His hearts caught

    Tears fall from his eyes
    He lands on his knees
    His wife had been alive
And he'd killed her with ease

Just the pull of a plug
    A choice he'd made
Now he'll never see his wife again
    Until his life finally fades
