Rugged angel,
Withered and tried
Approaches me
For a favor
To take his wings
He doesn't want them
He is spent
The heavens,
he whines,
are far away
And not nearly as nice
as we say they are
Look at me,
He whines
Do I look
Like an angel?
Soft, austere
Immortal?
I am only immortal
Though I wish to live
To eat,
To love,
To live,
To die,
I want to be human again
Won't you take these wings?
I took them
to the heavens they flew me
Before I said 'bye
The populace was
In an uproar
They deemed me unworthy
To be an angel
To roam the clouds
To chase the stars
To live upon a
Cloud rimmed in gold
To walk the golden
Highways and loways
So I was banished
To Earth I plummeted
Now deemed
A fallen angel
But I did not fall
I was pushed
I can see now
Why I became
The archangel
