-
I here the song of hope,
but dark despair closes my ears.
leaving silence where melody reigned.
Did I ever hear this song?
I see the light of life,
but unto me is the darkness of death,
the light has fled me.
Was that light ever there?
I smell the fragrant flowers,
now the stench of death is nigh.
the odor of flesh falling away.
Was the fragrance real?
I feel the warmth of love,
yet I am filled with coldness.
sorrow has filled my heart,
Did I ever love?
I see the pleasures of this life,
falling away before the dark of deaths door.
Was it all a past memory?
... or maybe just a dream.
