Little do you know, plastic diva,
That when that girl opens your box
You’re gonna have a new best friend
And her dog’s gonna chew you up
And you’re gonna be cold
Cause she’ll lose your clothes
But it will be worth it in the end
When she cries into your matted hair at night
“Barbie, you’re my only friend.
Mommy and Daddy are getting ‘divorced’,
What does that mean?
And Lisa doesn’t want to be my friend,
She says I’m weird.”
Little do you know, plastic diva,
That your little girl’s growing up
She doesn’t play with you anymore,
Leaves you in her toy box
And puts music in her ears to sedate her
But you don’t care, cause she’s your best friend
She’s put herself outside of reality
So maybe she’ll come back one day.
Little do you know, plastic diva,
That the bottom of this trash can ain’t so bad
Your little girl’s heart is in here too,
So you won’t be so alone.
Little do you know, plastic diva,
That she misses you sometimes.
Misses her old self that felt okay
That wasn’t draped in black
Could go outside to play
That relied on you like oxygen
Instead of the keyboard she now fingers
Reminiscently, playing chords
Chords from childhood songs she loved…
London bridge is falling down…
Falling down…
Falling down.
