he tells her to
“look up,”
but her eyes won’t stray from the ground,
from the Conversely indigo of her shoes.
she says that the all-seeing eye’s missed some things lately,
that the arrows pointing in endless circles
are her favourite symbol,
and that “shooting people”
is something that should only be done in art class.
she’s a rebel against rebellion,
who only “goes fish” for goldfish,
who talks at length of factories which put out love
instead of toxins.
but the only cause she won’t entertain,
is him.
