Lie

how did we ever get this far
by now i thought we'd fall apart
but when i say i love you i find- i'm smiling

trailing on such a narrow line
it's threads held together by a lie
we could stumble down so fast- yet we don't


when did- this start
it was meant to be a small lie
breaking- my heart
with the sweetness of your smile
in the- darkness
i find only your small light
and now- i know
i won't- escape this lie


you hold my hand so softly
and you gently lay lips on me
i try to ignore the sensation- this feeling

you whisper sweet nothings
and i reply with out thinking
so is this my true heart- i'm speaking?

when did i become genuine
why won't my heart stop hurting
everytime you say goodbye?

Very nice, it is amazing how you captured the feeling of no escaping of a lie. I do love this poem. I think the rhythm fits right nicely.
