• I was standing on the edge,
    feeling nothing at all.
    Simply enjoying the view from
    the top of this skyscraper.

    People down below scream at me
    to get down,
    but I refuse.
    They beg and plead,
    "Don't jump,
    everything is going to be okay."
    I'm not going to jump,
    everything will never be okay.

    I take in a deep breath,
    fill my body with fresh air.
    I turn my gaze to the setting sun,
    and feel a sweet serenity taking over.
    So peaceful,
    so simple.

    I turn around,
    and leave the building,
    feeling the start of a new beginning.
