Breaking,
Pain.
My heart shattering on the ground

Silent screaming,
Burning tears.
You step on all the pieces.

Churning stomach,
Waves of nausea.
Butterflies replaced with sorrow.

Goodbye,
Forever.
I really did love you.

Smile,
Laugh.
I spared your heart at least.

Time,
Move on.
I’ll tape the pieces together some day.

Forget the things I said,
Because I have to forget you.

We tried, we failed.
But now our friendship goes too
As I finish this poem for you.
