I sit and reminisce about what used to be
The night so long and cold’
Stretched out so far in front of me,
The memories of yesterday making me alone.
The cold tear slips down my face
The rain falls outside the window
My heart cries out for the one miles away
I can only hope he’s safe
I fall asleep there by the door
Into a restless dream
Where you were still here with me
And I was able to smile for them
The pitter patter of little feet
Wakes me in the morn
The question of where is daddy
Is sure to come soon
How do I tell them,
Daddy left in the night
His country needed him more than us
And he had to go to fight
Where ever you are she says
She’s daddy’s little girl
It doesn’t matter
Because according to your kids
Daddy’ll be home soon.

- Title: Daddy's Far Away
- Artist: Le Fille Cassee
- Description: I wrote this when my fiancee told me he was going to be in the Special Forces. Well, sitting one night I thought about him, his little girl (shes not my child) and one day our future kids...this is what came to my mind. Because in the SF, you can leave at a moments notice...
