Can you tell me which am I?
The Prince upon his throne or the Pauper with wishes high.
My life is one of lovely things and linens all set out.
People obey my every whim, a flick of my wrist and they are about.
Their eyes set upon my glory as if they all do care.
But their souls are empty behind their vacant stares.
The one thing I do treasure is something quite unseen.
It’s majesty and glow brings me to my knees.
It’s rather small and fragile, a slender touch would be it’s fall.
I would obey it’s every call.
It owns my heart and without it I would not survive.
Beside me you will always find it even if it defies the eyes.
But now I have lost my soul.
Without it I can not breath.
I stand before a crossroads now, not knowing who I am.
My lovely things and linens surround me ever still.
But I can't help but feel like I will never get my fill.
Can you tell me which am I?
The Prince upon his throne or the Pauper with wishes high?
I stood beside him once, his glow stronger than I.
Dressed in rags and wishes high.
To call myself a Prince would be nothing less then a lie.
