Peaceful distance

• Description: i went to the beach on a rainy day with my friend and he drowned himself and i became depressed and sat and worked on this for a whole month. sorry if the rhyme is off or if it sucks really bad, i don't concentrate well when i'm over emotional or under stress...if i ever post again i'll try to write something happier.

Along a darkened shore
You reminisce of happiness
That you want once more
I sit and watch as you think
Of how you don’t miss me
You’re oblivious to my pain
Blinded by your own joy and glee

I waited for you to come
To tell me I am all right
I sat and waited for a long time
Still I never again saw your light
You continue walking
The path right over my heart
Now I can barely see you
I feel so torn apart

So far away from me
Along a darkened shore
You reminisce of happiness
That you want once more
I sit and watch you think
Of how you don’t miss me
You’re oblivious to my pain
Blinded by your own joy and glee

I study your thoughtfulness
Wishing you’d think of me
Hoping that you’ll mellow out
Stop wishing for what cannot be
The distance to you is peaceful
This gap between us is my pain
While you walk the sun goes with you
Leaving me in darkness and rain

I agree with deadxnxgone, it doesn't matter what people think of your poems as long as it comes from the heart. And the poem is awesome in it's own right so you don't have to worry about that. 5/5

This is rather emotional. The flow is off and the spelling is a bit off too. But the message is strong. I am sorry for your friend. I've dealt with suicide and depression too, as you know from my poems, so I know where you're coming from in this poem. Don't "try" to make it happier. Let it come out naturally and if it's happy that's fine, and if its not its not.
