My Love Story
By: Erica Flett
I have a story about a love;
A tale so tragic.
Once I had a relationship
With a lust like magic.
I met this man so long ago,
An angel I could see.
He swooped me away from all the
Pain of being lonely.
He grabbed my hand as I grabbed his.
We held each other tight.
I looked into his eyes
And seen the sparkle, like at night.
I close my eyes and lean toward him,
While he does the same.
I thought it meant something but I
Guess it was just a game.
He fooled me once but not again.
I guess I was in lust,
Because when it came down to it
How could I start to trust?
I seen him a while later,
A lesson to be learned.
I felt so stupid when he was
There. But how could I turn
My back on him when he needs me.
I looked at him in pain
Wondering why it had to be
Like this. My heart feels slain.
He grabbed my hand but I looked down
With tears rolling down my
Face. Thinking to myself, why me?
As I begin to cry.
He acts much more different now
I look at him and smile
Holding back the agony
Because its all worth while.
We sit there together, alone
Talking to each other
When he tells me he likes me so
I start to feel smothered.
He confuses me so much yet
I know it’s all okay.
For he is with me by my side
That’s all he had to say.
As time goes by I fall in love
With that one special guy.
I’m happy and he has my heart,
Now we see eye-to-eye.
We’ve been together for three years
Now we are having a
Baby. About a month she will
Be born. Her name is Jillian Lorrain.
I sit there with him, holding my
Belly. Waiting for her.
Soon she will be here to live with
Us, causing quite a stir.
I lay there in bed, talking to
Him.”I love you” I said.
“I love you too, more then all”
He replied, rubbing my belly.
The days are long, I feel her move.
Waiting for my angel.
She’s due any minute now and
I start to feel the hell.
We rushed to the hospital where
My baby girl was born.
The happiest moment of my
Life. There’s nothing to mourn.
I held her in my arms so tight.
My Jillian Lorrain.
She sleeps so quietly and just
So innocently plain.
He walked in my room smiling
As I held my baby.
He looks at me and asks
Me, “Will you marry me?”
Five months later, I’m going home
From visiting my dad.
I felt there was something wrong but
I thought, it won’t be bad.
Driving down the road, wanting my
Baby, I hit black ice.
On the other side, a drunk guy
Hit me. I paid the price.
The police came to his front door.
“There was an accident.”
He grabbed Jillian and left. In
Quite a hurry he went.
He walked into the hospital
Wondering how I was
Jillian was in his arms. She
Was making quite a fuss.
The doctor came out of the room
With news that wasn’t good.
My man fell to his knees and begged,
“Did you do all you could?”
He walked into my room and said,
“You know I love you, right?”
I nodded my head and said the
Same thing. Seeing the bright white light.
I felt myself slowly fading
As I held her so tight
“I love you!” being my last words.
Drifting into the night.
He cries out loud, “Don’t take her from
Me!” As I lay there dead.
Little Jillian laid next to
Me. “Momma” she had said.
