-
the tide goes in and out
breathes and pauses
falls forward to the back
pushed away by the other hand
sew it to the sand
see how well you can hold it back
catching something
it does not last
not in this
place
freedom
falling to the floor
running away
out the door
freedom
grabs me by the hand
tells me no more lies
the tide goes out and in
shudders and grinds the wheels
falls back to the forward
unlace the laces
tear out the frills
let it fall from cupped hands
losing something
it will not last
not in this
place

- Description: If you're looking for sleep, it ran away. Life has propped your eyelids open and you can't blink, and sleep is still waiting for you to catch it.
