A mother abuses her children while a father drinks to blindness.
A brother cowers in his room while a sister beats out his kindness.

In these lives injustices are easy to find

A girlfriend cries in her car while a boyfriend finds other love in his.
A friend turns his back while the other slips a knife between his ribs.

In most of these humanity is left behind.

A grandfather lays on his death-bed alone while a grandmother spends his treasures.
A niece becomes pregnant and unloved while a nephew hides his taboo pleasures.

In attempt to make room a twisted mind.

An ignorant man is given his job out of fear while a practiced and learned man goes without.
A beautiful woman goes valued without pause while a homely woman struggles with doubt.

In this, if even we forget we are humans then so will even the wind.
