    you were there when I wanted you to be,

    You were present to see me laugh,

    You were present when my old dog
    had to lay down and die.
    You came when I called,
    you came when I yelled,
    you were next to me whenever it need be.
    You were such a good friend,
    the best anyone could have,
    because you where there for me.
    No one could doubt that our friendship
    was strong.
    Anyone could see that when they walked along.
    We shared the best of moments,
    we shared the worst of times.
    You shared your entire childhood with mine.
    And as we grow and become adults,
    hopefully we will never part.
    Because as you where there for me, likewise I will be.
