• She sat up high, softly staring down
At a mixture of faith, a placid hometown
That withered and writhed underneath corporate stares
    Of the sadistic men overhead.

I watched and saw her staring at the place
So overrun that it had nothing, not a face
A robot, a clone, another brick in the wall
    Another relationship, gone and dead.

I hiked down to see her, through the thorns and the dirt
That held me back from what I wanted to see, how much it hurt
Her eyes were like shadows, dancing with memories
The silver arrow from the foreign bow.

She stared at me, with those darkened gray eyes
And deciphered my every thought, wondering why
She tilted her head upward to face mine
And began to tell me what she had to know.

When all was said and done, she threw herself over
The edge of the mountaintop, where below, was uncovered
Into a shroud of mist, she flew away
Leaving me standing in the snow.

So drown me in your soul, believing
I cannot live, but that's me, deceiving
All who know and all who can't, please
Don't be afraid to let me go.

So bathe me in your overprotection
I cannot live without your possession
    Strangle me, softly, please
And tomorrow we'll dance into oblivion.

Embrace me to the point of pure asphyxiation,
As I race on to the realm of damnation
Let go of me, softly, please
And tomorrow I'll dance into oblivion...
