The Mourning After
An eye for an eye, right?
Then I believe I'll take your heart
I'll carve it from your chest
Still beating, then I'll serve it on a silver platter
An offering to the gods of blind infatuation
As you lie there, eyes wide, cold on the floor
I think I'll take your tongue as well
No more lies from your pretty mouth
Do you have the time for one last dance?
Yes, I think you do
Spin with me across the floor
Crimson trails in our wake
And then I'll lay you down to rest
How peaceful you look
In your box of silk and satin
My fairest ornament, an evil Fate has robbed me
Stolen the breath from your lips and the love from my heart

- Description: My second entry, yay for me. This is a big departure from my normal style of poetry. I was going through a huge Edgar Allan Poe phase, and I think this rather reflects that. I re-read it now, and it seriously appeals to me, considering the horrendous break-up I just went through. So I submit this for your approval. I hope you enjoy it.

WOW! That just smacked me in the face and said "Hello!"
This is really good. I'd ask for your autograph if I knew you. - Report As Spam
