Sleep on my dear friend
for there is nothing left for you here.
This maddening and disturbed world
will mourn for you for a little while.
Their rancid tears dry out from hallow eyes.
What are you dreaming of my dear friend?
Is it of purple oceans, and candy forests?
Of flowers that sing to you a sweet lullaby?
Or is it of black towers, and shrieking faces?
Of horrors that no man can dream?
Do not lament my dear friend
because you have done well.
No mere mortal could have done what you did.
Your strength protected us and nurtured us,
but was it that very strength that ended you?
Yes, my dear friend.
That surly made you fall.
Like a mighty redwood you have fallen at the hands of man.
The ax struck you again and again before you were hung
like a slab of meat from the ceiling.
Fear not my dear friend.
We will be fine.
You are no longer cascading down this grotesque waterfall of mortality
that is filled with the mangled bodies of whores and saints
with the repulsive sludge of stupidity foaming up from their mouths.
Wait for me my dear friend
on the horizon of that far away place
where the grass is soft under a sky so blue.
Because just like you, my dearest friend,
I will be sleeping soon.
